Spring Break + Gal Meme + Daily Style

Hey everyone! So, today marked the first day of my Spring Break! HECK YES. Finally I get a break from school. Not that school is particularly hard right now. Just hella boring. Anyways. During this week I'm going to try and get more posting done, but I may be taking a trip to Kalahari and Toronto with my bestie Leah (of Love Pop Bounce), so yeah, dunno yet. I really hope we go to Toronto though, so much shopping to be done. And I'm not really a huge fan of water parks, but meh, yanno. I digress.

Continuing on, Mitsu posted a gal meme on her blog today, and I really wanted to do it too, kind of to help my readers understand me better...? I really just have nothing better to do right now. I'm so sick, by the by. Like, ugh, snot on you. Just kidding. Anyways, onto the meme!

1. Describe your style as a gal.

Well, I like the sweet, ruffle-y styles, but I love rock/punk styles as well. I really like combining the two looks. Sweet with an edge I guess, is how you could describe it.

Love this.

2. Which models inspire you to get dressed?

Right now, I'm really inspired by Mori Maya from JELLY. I used to be a PopTeen worshipper, but now I'm trying to branch out into more magazines. But I still love Izuoka Misaki and Nana Suzuki, because they are freaking awesome and Misaki is BEAUTIFUL. And I've been following Romihi's blog recently. I'm inspired by lots of people, but these are the models that influence my tastes the most, I think.

GAH!

3. What are the brands that you have been wearing lately?

Well, I don't own any 109 brands or anything. I wear lots of stuff from Forever 21, Urban Behaviour, and H&M. I gotta make do with what I've got in my area. It's really easy to find "gal-able" clothing in those stores.

One of my outfits from February.

4. What was your first thing from 109 (or similar)?

Still haven't gotten it. But if I were to get something like, today, I would want this:

Delyle Tiered Ruffle OP

5. What compliment about your wardrobe do you like best?

Uhm... well, a lot of the time people say they are going to come and raid my closet when I'm sleeping, so I guess that means people like my style? That's probably the best compliment. Lol.

6. What do you wear most often?

Hm. I think I wear dresses and skirts the most, because when I have dance twice a day, they are easiest to get on and off when I need to change/get dressed in under two minutes.

7. I like getting...

Shoes. I just love shoes so much. And I don't get them as often as I get like, clothes and makeup because... I don't really know why, I should buy shoes more often. But anyways. Shoes. Gotta love 'em.

Love this EMODA bootie

8. What do you look at first when you see a gal?

I usually look at their makeup and then hair. Outfit follows after.

9. What gal rules have you broken?

Probably a lot of them, since I didn't even know their were rules. LOL. Really, I didn't know there were rules, somebodies going to have to fill me in here.

10. What would you never wear?

I think overalls. I think overalls are really cute, I just can't see myself wearing them.

11. What do you think is essential for a good look?

A smile. Nobody looks good with a frown.

12. How do you feel when viewed as a gyaru?

Awesome. I love gal style, and it just makes me feel happy. I really want to go to Japan to see what the gals there are like, and how they would view me though.

13. Do you have many friends that are gals?

Not really. I've shown some people gal, but it's too high-maintenance for them... or so they say. But that's okay, I don't really mind. I love my friends for who they are, regardless of their styles.

14. What is the next thing you plan to buy that you desperately need?

I wanted so much stuff from ZARA when I was in Toronto last time, so hopefully if I go back this break, I can snap some up. They had some really cute Western-y stuff, and lots of cheap cardigans!

15. What's your favourite accessory?

Hats. Primarily berets. Actually, any sort of hair accessory.

Leopard print beret = love

16. Sexy, monotone or elegant?

If I had to choose, I'd probably pick sexy or monotone. I like looking elegant, but not ALL the time. And I like to feel sexy. I like to look cute, but lots of people say it's not my thing, I portray a more sexy, "adult" image. Damn my adultness.

17. Would you wear clothes that aren't in fashion?

I would and I wouldn't. I would wear things that other people don't consider in fashion (i.e. Abercrombie/Hollister crews), because I've basically been doing that my whole life, and I wouldn't wear something that's not in fashion and it's like... ugly. Like things with shoulder pads. GAH.

18. What is your current obsession?

MA*RS bags, dresses from Delyle and Emoda.

19. Do you like to spread gal fashion? How do you do it?

I love to spread gal fashion, but I haven't been very successful in doing so. I've shown around a couple magazines, posted things on Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr, linked to my blog, but nobody around me is interested. But I would love it if it caught on!

20. What advice would you give to someone starting out?

I would say BE STRONG! The world of fashion I've come to realize is vicious, especially on the internet where people can comment freely on your style without hesitation if they choose. You have to be able to take criticism and use it to your advantage. Never let anyone get you down, and always strive to improve yourself. There is no perfect. You can build yourself up to a certain level of expertise, but then you set your goals higher and try to reach that level. NEVER STOP IMPROVING! Always push yourself!!

Anyways, onto a quick snap of daily style! This outfit was from Thursday, not terribly gal, but I REALLY liked it. Gross cellphone shots pour vous!

Wow, I just realized what a bad picture this really is, eheh. Anyways, I was wearing my Rider jacket on the top, red plaid shorts and my Aldo boots. Kind of a rock outfit. My hair was down earlier in the day, but I had to have it up for ballet which created PONYTAIL DENT OF DOOM. So yeah.

Anyways, movie time with Pere!

(P.S. do you like my new layout? Made by moi on MS PAINT, woo.)
