Make Up Vlog?

Hey guys! Super quick post before it's off to dream land for me! I have been considering making a vlog about makeup and stuffs for a LONG time, and I'm finally thinking of actually starting one! But I want to get some input from some of the people that might be following my vlog.

Hey guys and gals! I'm really tired right now, and I've been trying to go to bed earlier (at least for me--- usually I don't sleep until 2 or 3 am. Yup.), so that I can actually get up in the morning. I was planning on making a post tonight, but completely forgot because I was nursing an injured foot (Ballet injury, nothing serious, just some bruised bones), and was testing out a bunch of different yummy teas.

Hey ladies and gents! ... I just realized how totally awkward my intros sound, I need to come up with some new material man. Sheesh.

Anyways, today I felt like talking about two things in relation to gal style: the current Western trend and denim (jeans, etc). So let's start with Western trends!

Hey gals and gents, I'm still chillin' in TO. I'm gonna start this post with my day in Toronto, and then move on to a tidbit of gal fashion stuff. Let's go!

Hey blogders! I'm currently relaxing in a hip 'n' trendy Toronto townhouse, typing away madly on my hosts lovely silver MacBook Pro. I'm quite content! My first day in TO was absolutely fantastic. Here's why:

First and foremost, I travelled to the Blue Banana Market to check out the selection of lolita wear (located on the second floor. Look her the Her Majesty sign!)

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Xin nian kuaile! Happy Chinese New Year everyone! I hope everyone has a wonderful new year and becomes very prosperous.

Our CNY celebrations were awesome. Siu-kiyaki was awesome and delicious! We found out my dad is a notorious meat thief; someone will put meat in the pot to cook, and my dad would steal it when its ready! We finally caught him though.

Afterwards, I spent the night at Leah's. Today we chilled and went to the mall for a bit. We bought two lovely products form LUSH that we used today: STREET PARTY (bath bomb) and COSMETIC WARRIOR (facial mask).

We used both of these today! I was really excited to use on of LUSH's masks, because I've never used one before, and this one looked really nice. So here's a bit of an advertorial for you, starring myself and Leah (read her blog here!)!

This mask contains garlic and tea tree oil, and it's supposed to clear up spots and blemishes and generally clear skin. Just to be sure, it doesn't stink like garlic like you think it might! It actually has a bit of a minty scent. But it's hard to describe.

The mask is supposed to be kept in your fridge while it isn't being used, so when you do put it on, it's very cold, but it's also very refreshing! The mask also has some leaves in it, but they can easily be avoided if you don't want them on your face. The mask is smooth, but it goes on very chunky.

Trying look pretty with this shit on my face. Looks fucking nasty shit. Feels good though!

You're supposed to keep the mask on for 5 to 10 minutes max. I recommend you stick to their times. If you leave it on longer than 10 minutes, it hardens up more than it should and it takes forever to get it off. And while we had the mask on, we soaked our feet in STREET PARTY!

The mask really clears up skin. Even after I had just taken off the mask, I noticed most of my blackheads were gone, and my pores had gotten a bit less noticeable. And your face feels clean and refreshed! It's very, very lovely.

Also, I really loved my hair today! Just done in a twisted bun with little side braids for detail!

Other than the lovely spa treatments, me and Lee played NARUTO: Clash of Ninja 2! My favourite button-masher! I'm so good at it!!

Happy Party Time!

Hey people! How's your day going? Mine is pretty fab. Last night was my high school's semi formal event. For those that don't know, semi-formal is just a dinner-dance. And it's totally awesome. This years theme was Hollywood/Red-Carpet. Kinda lame, I know. But the party was mad fun!

I hosted the semi pre-party again this year. Shown above from left to right is my friend Ashley, me and my friend Rosalie (read her blog, Cake and Other Wimsies!). We took so many photos before the actual event! Later on we were joined by the men.

On our way to the event, we had to pick up one more man, my asian-buddy Kevin! Then we went to the event, checked our coats, and went on in! The hall was decorated really nicely, but there wasn't really anything "Hollywood" about it. There were a bunch of awesome movie posters on the wall though! I wanted to swipe one, but alas, they would have been way too heavy. But I heard they might be selling them at school? Anyways. There were three seating sections: Music, Movies and Fashion. OF COURSE, we sat in fashion!

And we took up an entire table!

Dinner was pretty yummy. Nothing special thought, standard bread-salad-pasta-chicken-potatoes meal. It was good though. Anyways, onto more important things.

The dance floor was packed all night long, and it was so fun! They played good music, and lots of fun dancing ensued. And when they played Bohemian Rhapsody (WCI's theme song), there was a mad mosh-pit! It was intense man. I wonder who started it? I know someone elbowed me in the head at some point! It was so fun. I love my school.

Afterwards, Rosalie came over to my place because her parents were over watching the Olympic opening ceremony with mum and Andy. So we went upstairs and soaked out feet. So nice on my poor, aching feet! But I stayed true to my image and kept my shoes on all night! GO ME!

Overall, it was an awesome, awesome night. I had so much fun. And I'm sure that the mosh-pit will be talked about for a while! It was super intense!

On a fashion note, my hair and makeup! My hair was literally not accepting curls, so I just went with curling the ends. It was perfectly straight again by the end of the night though. And makeup wise, I was so pleased with my lashes! They looked so good, nobody could tell they were fake! They just thought I did an awesome job with the mascara! WAHAHAHAHA.

Anyways, I need to start getting ready for CNY celebrations tonight! Will post later methinks? I don't know. Ciao.

The Blogging Mood

I'm in it.

My dogs name is Jean Luc. He is a French Bulldog. I don't really like him. But since he was barking at everything known to man kind, I let him into my room while the Mum and Andy were out.

However, I've come to the realization that he likes to bark at all dog-like noises. I was watching a movie, and the quietest dog barks aggravated him! So annoying! And after I let him into my room and everything. Humph.

Anyways, tomorrow (today) is my semi-formal! I'm so excited. It's gonna be an awesome party. I finally got my lash set!

My top lashes are from Forever 21 and bottoms are by Quo. The top lashes are a part of Forever 21's new beauty line. Most of the cosmetics look pretty cheap, but the lashes are nice, and good for $3 USD a pair! So bloody cheap! They didn't have much variety though. The Quo ones are nice too, and on sale at Shoppers for $5 CDN. But I'm so happy I will finally have a full lash set for a few weeks.

I also got this smashing ring at F21 for my outfit. It's so kicking.

So mad chio, eh? I love it. So blinged out and shiny! And it fits really well on my finger. Just so in love with it. F21 is the place to go for cheap and cute accessories! Really! They are awesome.

Anyways, I want to watch more 'Whisper of the Heart' and then go to sleep!

Hello! My name is Jillian, other wise known as the all knowing Panda. Just kidding. I used to blog over on a Japanese server (ameblo), but it SUCKS. Majorly. And I don't speak/read/write Japanese, so you know, not really working out for me. I liked the emoticons though.

Anywho, this is my new blog PANDA LOGIC. I look forward to filling it's cyber-pages with fashion advice, hair and make up tips and updates on my utterly boring and yet so very interesting life. I hope you enjoy it. And in honour of this lovely new niche, I shall christen this blog with a personal update. MY HAIR COLOUR!

As seen in the photo above, my hair colour was a very, very dark brown. And that's after EIGHT months! I've had blue hair, red hair, partially blonde hair, orange hair, brown hair, the works. I've been trying to salvage it from it's flat-iron hell state, and it's been a tough eight months. Not really, I just like to dye my hair. Anyways, I digress.

I am an avid follower of the Japanese "GAL" fashion, so it's always been a goal of mine to try out blonde hair.

Well.

I did.

Sort of.

My hair guy (Fouad) said my hair wasn't quite ready to go straight to a blonde colour as of now, so he told me to start off with a lighter brown and blonde highlights. So that's what I did! And I am ever so pleased with it. He always does a great job on my hair, and it always smells fantabulous afterwards. For readers in Windsor, I would definitely check out Shaara Hair (3873 Dougall Ave. [519 - 966 - 5910]). They are awesome.

Anyways, back to me.

Sorry for moderately crap quality photos, but thats what I get for trying to take pictures at 8 p.m. Anywho, I'm working my way to a full-on blonde look, hopefully in a few months I'll be able to step it up a few notches. I've joined the Light Side.

This brings me to an issue commonly discussed in Western Gal communities/forums. The issue of gal hair colour. What IS a gal hair colour? When asked, many would answer blonde. But that isn't so. Of course, it is one of the most COMMON shades of hair, but it is not necessarily the only hair colour. To be specific, Romihi (Hiromi Hosoi of egg magazine) has had many different hair colours, most recently pink! It's becoming more common for gals to have more reddish hues and darker browns.

I personally like the blonde look, but I could still pull off the gal look with my previously extremely dark hair!

It's all about the charisma, the clothes, the make up and the hairstyle! You don't have to be tan, you don't have to be blonde. You just have to be wild and get sexy! My favourite gal motto!

Another gal hair misconception: long hair/big hair is a MUST. NOT SO! Many gals now (not necessarily in mags) have bobs, or wear straight, FLAT hair styles! So you don't have to have expensive extensions down to your waist, and you don't have to spend hours teasing and fluffing your hair. Although many people do prefer the puffy/long hairstyles, I'm just saying it is never a MUST.

In my opinion, fashions shouldn't have such extreme rules. The rules are what usually brings the fashion community (at least in Western communities) down. I'm not saying it will completely crash and burn, oh no, it will certainly thrive. But for the wrong reasons. For example, the lolita fashion communities on LJ. I ABSOLUTELY love lolitas and what they stand for, but there is so much wank and hate. It just ruins the fun of it for lots of people. Although, reading loli_secrets can be really fun and entertaining. But I just don't like that so much hating goes on in these fashion communities. It's the age old question:

WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?
