Mode Gal: Scouring the Online Stores

So if you've been fairly active in the modern Gal community recently, you will know that Mode gyaru has become very popular among all of us. I am super attracted to the look as a whole, and I've really been transforming my wardrobe with Mode in my head. Heck, I may even Mode theme my room.

For those of you who don't know what Mode gyaru is, or are unsure of it's meaning, check out Mitsu's great introduction post and the rest of her Mode gyaru series. She really knows what she is talking about in accordance to Mode.

Anyways, once you've brushed up on your Mode gyaru, etc, come on and check out my hit list of Mode looks from online shops!

(JELLY June 2010)

Some Gal brands that are or are adapting to Mode gyaru are Emoda, Murua, Lip Service and Gilfy. But the hard hitters are Emoda and Murua. Usually everybody goes to 109 brands for their inspiration, because that's mostly what you see in magazines. And we all know that most Western Gals rely heavily on magazines as a resource for outfits, hair and makeup.

So I'm going to start scouring the web shops for the hottest Mode pieces I can find!

EMODA

(Lovely Ena Matsumoto)

Left: Bold, floral and loose. Creating an interesting shape on the top is very mode. Right: Lace and strong shoulder, while maintaining a looser fit is a big Mode trend.

Left: "Big Tees" are a big Mode trend and are very easy to coordinate. Right: A printed tunic with a waist cincher creates visual interest in an otherwise simple coordinate.

Left & Right: "Pakinsu" or leggings that look like pants are very Mode, and very hot! Acid wash and ripped with lace are two big trends in this style.

Left & Right: Bandage skirts are probably the most Mode thing in Gal fashion right now. They are very curve hugging and create lovely shapes. The classic bandage style (L) and a ruched zipper front style (R).

Left & Right: Scarves are a very handy accessory. They can be worn as a hair accessory, around your neck, as a belt, or even on a bag.

MURUA

(Alwaus gorgeous Momoko Ogihara)

L & R: A very cool, military-esque deco shoulder cropped tee. Looks great with the saruel pants.

L & R: Two examples of MURUA's lace tops, one with a high neck and one without. Very chic, very mode. I love the pattern of the lace.

L: Some patchwork denim pakinsu. R: Printed pakinsu. I love these, and there are many more patterns on the website.

L: Really pretty satin floral bandage-style skirt. This shape is very Mode; high-waisted and very close fitting. R: A really edgy asymmetrical hem denim skirt; a cool twist on an old favourite. Love the key chain as well.

L: A simple black playsuit, easy to dress up and to dress down. R: A printed satin shift dress. This pattern is very Mode, and MURUA does is in a dress, shorts, a skirt and a scarf.

L: A ethnic-Mode belt. Love the bead work and colouring. R: Some choker style rope necklaces. Really nice details with the chains and tear-drop pearls.

SIDE NOTE: It looks as if MURUA is releasing a CD?
Here's the trailer:

MISCELLANEOUS
(Some 109, some not)

Lip Service: A great saruel pant-playsuit combination, I do question that bow though.

Gilfy: A nice tee set, the graphic print and the loose fit make it fitting for more casual Mode.

Delyle: A great take on the bandage skirt. I love the diagonal bands and the black and white.

Gimlet: A really nice, simple Mode coord using a statement necklace, basic printed T-shirt and a floral bandage skirt.

GalStar: A really simple burnout big T-shirt.

GalStar: A pair of printed saruel pants would spice up any Mode outfit.

GalStar: An easy way to accessorize is with a miltary style hat.

GalStar: A lightweight, easy to tie scarf is key for making hairbows. This one will easily polish an other wise lacking hairstyle.

Anywho, that's all for now guys! If you feel I'm missing something, or would like me to add something, comment or hit up my Formspring

On another note, if you haven't noticed, there is a countdown gadget in my sidebar! Furthermore, it's counting down until I leave for San Francisco! I will be gone for a week exploring in California, and I am super excited!

I may try to fit in another post before I leave, but we'll just have to see.

As always, thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!
