So in today's post, I'm going to be looking at the cutest, coolest, and most fashionable Winter gear I can find on the internet!
Miss Wakatsuki is only half-way there!
I know Winter gear doesn't get a whole lot of coverage from gal magazines, since Japan doesn't get extremely cold Winters, but there is still some talk about it! Let's look at a few pages from various mags to get some inspiration!
The girls from Jelly know what's up. A thick coat is always best for Winter. They are showing lots of styles. There is lots of Miltary inspiration, a few trench coats, and so much Fur, you don't even know.
Tsubasa 4, 5, and 6 have got Winter down.
Down coats are also popular (and warm), shown by the girls from PopSister! They show off the boyish and girlish coat styles provided by different gal brands!
Even the gals from PopTeen are showing off their Winter best :D I think PopTeen really covers the most variants of styles, so definitely check out their November (and soon December) issue for more photos.
As far as coats go, there is not nearly as much choice as there is for other clothing (tops, bottoms, dresses). But even the most basic coat can become whatever style you want! Notice, that even though the three magazines all have different styles, they all use very similar styles of coats, or even the same coats! So lets get to the winter wear! :D
These two coats are from WC, and are very cool! WC seems to like big, square-ish coats. They also are using tons of fur on their winter coats! WC is huge on fur. The black/grey jacket has bear ears, which also seems to be a trend on the rise!
Liz Lisa and MA*RS (respectively) give us some sweet and sexy choices in terms of trench coats! I love the use of the big gold buttons on these coats. Granted, I don't think the MA*RS one is much of a Winter jacket, but the Liz Lisa one has leopard fur! Another fur lover in the house!
Emoda gives us some Mode selection for winter wear. They have quite a variety of different down jacket styles, as well as furs. There's also this super cool over sized blazer, but that doesn't really count as Winter gear.
Cecil McBee is sticking to mostly trench coats and pea coats, but they all look fantastic and very classy. But why, oh, why do they pair up the short jackets with that nasty full length denim skirt!? Anyways, Cecil is keeping things girly and pretty in their coat department, and everything looks very much warm!
Gilfy and Glad News (respectively) have some great coats for those who aren't made for the sweeter jackets. Gilfy does a great combo of fur and down which is guaranteed to keep you warm! And Glad News gives us a great leather jacket with shearing as the lining. That. Sounds. Awesome. I love shearing!
Now that we've covered the coats, lets get to the really fun stuff: accessories! And that includes shoes, or to be more specific, boots!
A few scans from PopSister gives a good grasp as too whats in style this season.
I kind of feel that the Doc Martens have kind of taken the place of Engineer boots, since they give off the same punky, edgy feel, but in a new style. As far as everything else goes, it's all pretty standard. I love the hiking boot heels with the shearing on the inside though! Very cool! And fur on your boots is definitely another big trend this year. I like that they just do the fur legwarmers, so you don't have to commit to wearing furry boots all the time. It's much more versatile!
Since shoes are pretty straight forward, I'm going to move on to the rest of your Winter gear! Meaning all the fun things like hats and scarves!
Some cute hat options from PopSister.
What's great about accessories is that you can take a plain trench coat and pair of boots, and make your look your own. You can make your basics any style you want by interchanging different accessories, thereby getting more use out of your Winter gear!
Adorable front cross knit hats from Emoda! Kinda flapper-ish, no?
Cecil McBee wants you to keep warm with this fur scarf!
Cecil McBee also wants you to protect your hands (and nails!) from the cold.
Gilfy hopes you keep your heads warm with these cute berets.
Keep your hands and your head toasty with these cute additions from Liz Lisa.
Maximize your Military look with this cute hat from One Spo!
Get your fur on this Winter with these legwarmers from Rose Fan Fan!
Stay warm and stylish with a Nordic scarf, like this one from Vanquish.
Who doesn't love giant ear muffs!? These ones from LDS are super cute.
Even Gals lose their mittens sometimes. Keep track of yours, like LDS does!
Keep your legs covered this Winter, with some Nordic tights from SLY!
I hope this post helped inspire you gals in your Winter gear shopping! I can't stress the importance of staying warm in the Winter enough! And besides, who likes being cold!?
Before I go, I am seriously apologizing for my lack of updates. I have been ridiculously slow, and it's been entirely due to laziness. I have had ample time to update, especially since I've been home sick a lot this past week. I decided today that I simply had to finish this post up, since I'm going to be very busy the next little while. I have to focus on all my end of semester projects right now, so I will actually not have much time to blog.
Anyways, thanks as always for reading and have a great day!

I'm in Minnesota so I know how cold it can be in North America, I use a regular skii type jacket. It's a bit disappointing to put that over a nice coordinate haha! Even my mom is like "Are you sure you want to wear that jacket with that outfit...?" haha
ReplyDeleteBut I think the most important point is how thick and warm the lining inside the coats are. I am thinking of getting a fur one in Tokyo.
I want a big fake fur hat! haha, and that hat by one*spo is sooo cool XD
Whaaa great post, so many things I love too!!
ReplyDeleteBuy it all and share it with me plz? ;D
@さらまり: I know, I need to get a new coat, because the one I have right now is one of my snowboarding jackets. Not very fashionable!! I really want a fur coat, but there are too many fur haters at my school, so I can't be bothered to wear one.
ReplyDelete@Samispoon: If I had the money to buy it all, I totes would!! xD
these oufits are awesome! i love the brand liz lisa, but i'm not able to buy some clothes from there :( i only can ogle the beautiful things :((
ReplyDeleteI'm searching for some cute mittens, too, but here in germany i haven't found a pair for me.
@ShuShu: Same! I never have money, so I can't buy things from my favourite brands. And I'm not really sure what stores are in Germany, but keep searching! I'm sure you'll find something fittinf sooner or later :D
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE that one*spo hat!! ♥___♥
ReplyDeleteThis was such a great post~ even if gal winter style DOES just consist of coats & hats & such, it's still fun to look at, haha!
I loved this post! Living in New England always means a long, cold winter so I'm glad you had so many pictures and examples from different styles and magazines. I love the LDS mittens and earmuffs. Plus, the leg warmers from Rose Fan Fan are gorgeous! I just need to find a way to get my hands on those.
ReplyDelete@Tori: Isn't it great!? :O
ReplyDeleteI know, winter style isn't the most intriguing, but I love looking at how all the different brands add their own touches to basic winter gear.
@Lamis: Thank you! Definitely try hunting around in your area if you can't order online. More often than not, you can find similar items! Although the legwarmers you might have some trouble with xD
