Time to say good bye!

Hey guys! I'll be very surprised if anyone actually reads this post, but here goes nothing!

It's time for me to put this blog on an indefinite hiatus. It's been ages since I've been as into blogging as I was back when I started this blog. I haven't been nearly as up to it in the past year, and it's definitely shown in my lack of quality and quantity of posts.

I will sincerely miss blogging here, and I hope those of you who have been reading me all this time have enjoyed reading what I've had to say.

If you feel so inclined and would like to stay in touch, my Tumblr is where I am most actively blogging.

Thank you all for your continued support through the life of this blog! I hope that I may have at least helped one person throughout this journey.

Best wishes, blog on!

PandaLogic Bakes: French Macaroons (video + recipe!)

Hey guys! So for my third Vlogmas video, I decided to do some holiday baking and make some French Macaroons with Vanilla Chai Buttercream! It seemed like a fun new treat to try for the Holidays, and although it was quite a bit of work, the results were very good! They turned out really well, and were super yummy! I baked them a few days ago, and they are all gone already!

Anyways, this post I'm going to link the vlog that I filmed, and also leave the recipe for anyone interested! So here you go:

Macaroon Batter (original recipe here)
- 1 ¼ cups icing sugar
- 4 oz (1 cup) almond flour or finely ground almonds
- ¼ cup plus 2 tbsps egg whites at room temperature
- pinch of salt
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
Allow egg whites to thicken by leaving them uncovered at room temperature overnight.
On three pieces of parchment, use a pencil to draw 1-inch (2.5 cm) circles about 2 inches apart. Flip each sheet over and place each sheet on a baking sheet.
Push almond flour through a tamis or sieve, and sift icing sugar. Mix the almonds and icing sugar in a bowl and set aside. If the mixture is not dry, spread on a baking sheet, and heat in oven at the lowest setting until dry.
In a large clean, dry bowl whip egg whites with salt on medium speed until foamy. Increase the speed to high and gradually add granulated sugar. Continue to whip to stiff peaks – the whites should be firm and shiny.
With a flexible spatula, gently fold in icing sugar mixture into egg whites until completely incorporated. The mixture should be shiny and ‘flow like magma.’ When small peaks dissolve to a flat surface, stop mixing.
Fit a piping bag with a 3/8-inch (1 cm) round tip. Pipe the batter onto the baking sheets, in the previously drawn circles. Tap the underside of the baking sheet to remove air bubbles. Let dry at room temperature for 1 or 2 hours to allow skins to form.
Bake, in a 160C/325F oven for 10 to 11 minutes. Use a wooden spoon to keep the oven door slightly ajar, and rotate the baking sheet after 5 minutes for even baking.
Remove macarons from oven and transfer parchment to a cooling rack. When cool, slide a metal offset spatula or pairing knife underneath the macaron to remove from parchment.
Pair macarons of similar size, and pipe about ½ tsp of the filling onto one of the macarons. Sandwich macarons, and refrigerate to allow flavours to blend together. Bring back to room temperature before serving.

Vanilla Chai Buttercream (original recipe here)

- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 tsp. vanilla bean paste (or pure vanilla extract)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp. chai spice mix (1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 1/2 tsp. ground cardamom, 1/2 tsp. ground ginger, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg)
- 1 tbsp. cold milk, if needed to thin out the buttercream

In a stand mixer, beat the butter until it is creamy. On low, mix in the vanilla bean paste and the chai spice mix. Carefully beat in the powdered sugar about ½ cup at a time. If the buttercream is too thick add 1-2 tbs of cold milk until the desired consistency is reached.

I hope you guys try out this recipe, they turned out super yummy! Anyways, good luck with all your Holiday baking, and hopefully I'll be posting again soon! Bye guys :D

T'is the season for: LBDs!

Hey everyone! So as y'all are surely aware, November is almost over. And you know what that means: DECEMBER!

December is one of my favourite months of the entire year, for a couple reasons. The first one is a given: Christmas. Secondly, winter break! And lastly, New Years! And what do all of these occasions call for? Parties! Yes, it is the season for holiday parties, New Years eve, and all sorts of seasonal events. And when it comes to party season, I know a lot of people will be reaching for their standby Little Black Dress (or LBD for short!).

I know everyone has at least one LBD in their closet. And if you don't, you should. It's a staple piece that can be worn all year for almost every occasion. So if you don't currently own a LBD, now is the perfect time to get one!

I've been holiday shopping online for the last couple weeks, and I've spotted tons of adorable, edgy, and classy LBDs! So I figured, why not share 'em? In this post I've compiled a list of all my favourite LBDs that I've seen online this year, from a variety of different stores!

So check them out!

Sister Jane Spike Chain Collar Dress, Urban Outfitters, $110

Transparent Cut-out High-Low Chiffon Dress, H&M, $17

Paneled Embellished Mesh Dress, Forever21, $29

French Connection Lace Slash Bodycon Dress, Asos, $137

Velvet Polka Dot Dress, MissKL, $96

Phantom Burnout Lace Maxi, Free People, $196

Midnight Dancer Sequin Dress, ModCloth, $54

Not into the LBD? Willing to go for a bolder hue this holiday season? Then check out these festive frocks too!

The Trust In Me Dress, MissKL, $146

Scalloped Peplum Dress, Urban Outfitters, $69

Embroidered Hi-Low, Urban Outfitters, $152

Bandeau Galaxy Dress, Romwe, $95

"Ode to a Grecian Sojourn" Dress, ModCloth, $49

This is probably one of the seasons that has the most events and parties to attend, so why not look smashing while attending all of them? Whether choosing a classic LBD, or a bright bold colour, rock your frock with pride and you can never go wrong!

What are some of your favourite holiday pieces? How would you accessorize? Let me know in the comments below!

ALSO!!!!

This year, since I'm revamping my YouTube channel, I decided I'm going to take part in Vlogmas this year! For those of you wondering, Vlogmas is a special time during December when vloggers will vlog every day of the month! Although, since I'm just getting into vlogging now, I might make it more of a every other day/three days a week type deal. I just don't think I'll be able to manage every single day! Or else, you'll get a lot of vlogs of me watching Netflix!

But I will be participating, and I'm looking for some video ideas! So if you've got any suggestions for me, let me know in the comments as well! I want to make videos that you guys actually want to watch. So definitely shout out to me! Leave a comment, send a tweet, ask on Tumblr. I want to hear from you!

Anyways, that's all for today! I hope you guys are as excited for the holiday season as I am! See you guys soon!

P.S. How do you guys like the new layout? I think it's a lot less cluttered now, and more relaxing of a reading environment! :D

LUSH Christmas 2012!!

IT'S HERE!!!!!

Holiday products are back at Lush Cosmetics!! I have been an avid user of Lush products since the 7th grade, and the holiday products are always fantastic! Every year there's classic returning products (like Snowcake, Angel's Delight, and Cinders), and there's also brand new products and innovations (like Mr. Punch, Ponche, and Bubblebeard!) I just got a huge box of goodies from Lush, and I decided I'd share them with all of y'all!

Disclaimer: I do work at a Lush Cosmetics, but this in NO WAY will change my opinions on the products. If I love a product, it is solely because I DO love the product. And if I don't like a product, I won't say otherwise! I'm not in anyway being paid to review Lush products, just so we're all clear!

The first two products are new this year and they are Midnight Massage (top) and Sandy Santa (bottom). Midnight Massage is a massage bar, scented with jasmine and covered with a gold luster! It smells fantastic, and is super pretty! Sandy Santa is a sugar scrub, for use in the bath or shower! He uses sugar and sand to scrub you all over, and is scented with orange, rosewood, and sandalwood oil. Super yummy!

Next up are soaps! From the left: Mr. Punch, fruity and boozy; Snowcake, creamy and sweet; Angel's Delight, fruity and bright; North Pole, chocolate-minty (pink) and sandalwood/cypress (white); Snowglobe, citrusy and uplifting; and Northern Lights, pine and citrus! Mr. Punch and the North Pole soaps are all new this year, but everything else is returning favourites! I am IN LOVE with the Mr. Punch soap, it smells so good. It's got lime, blackcurrant, juniper berries and gin in it! It's heavenly.

I got three shower gels: Twilight, Ponche, and Snow Fairy! Twilight (lavender and tonka) and Ponche (orange juice, cinnamon, and tequila) are both new products, but Snow Fairy is a returning all time favourite! Snow Fairy is an amazing product, it's super candy sweet and is packed with iridescent glitter!

I also got two of the facial cleansers: Buche de Noel, boozy and fruity with cranberries, satsumas, ground almonds, and brandy. This one is clay based, and its really good for dry, winter skin, but its useable for all skin types! Let The Good Times Roll is a new facial cleanser, made with maize flour, talc, corn meal, and popcorn! It smells AMAZING, like caramel corn (and also somehow like strawberry milk!) It's very good for polishing the skin, and is very gently scrubby! I also got the complimentary lip scrub, Popcorn! It's made from castor sugar and sea salt, so you get the sweet'n'salty flavour of popcorn on your lips! It also has corn meal and coconut oil.

And now come the bath products!! The first one, the Melting Snowman, is a bath melt. Bath melts are made of cocoa and shea butter, so they melt in your bathtub and make for an extra silky and moisturizing bath. Snowman is made with cinnamon, patchouli, and sweet orange oil. So yummy! Bath bomb wise, I got So White (an apple scented bomb with a pink centre and bubble bar chunks), Party Popper (a citrusy bomb with confetti pieces), Cinders (a cinnamon and orange bomb with popping candy), and Golden Wonders (a champagne-like perfumed bomb with surprises inside!)

And lastly, bubble bars! I got three of the reusable bars, and three of the standard bars! From the left there's Bubblebeard (sandalwood and lavender), Rocket (clove, ginger, and fire tree oil), and the Magic Wand (candy sweet scent). For these three bars, simply hold onto their ends, and swish them in the water as you fill your bath. For Candy Mountain (sweet vanilla absolute candy scent), Christmas Eve (jasmine and ylang ylang), and Santa's Sack (tonka, neroli, and tagetes oil), take a piece of the bar and crumble it under the running bath water!

I will probably do a video talking about my favourites out of all the holiday products, but they are all pretty fantastic! If you have a Lush store in your area, pop in and give the products a smell! If you're not so lucky, check the Lush website and order some products online! Lush ships pretty much all over the world, so you shouldn't have much trouble getting your hands on these products!

So what do you guys think of the products? Have you used Lush before? Which product is your favourite? Which ones look like the most fun?

Thanks for reading guys, and I'll see y'all soon!

I'll link it here just in case, and if you enjoy watching my videos please feel free to subscribe to my channel! I'm going to try and vlog more often since it's quite fun and I've enjoyed it so far, so we'll see how it goes!

Anyways, as promised, I'm going to post some photos of some of the items I purchased/featured in my haul video. I don't have all the items I showed (mostly the makeup has been left out), because I'm probably going to make a review post on those products a little bit later on!

For now, here's a preview shot of my sweaters :3

They are such funny awesome sweaters! And they were so cheap too *w* Thrifting is going to be my new addiction, I can feel it...

Quick question!

Hey guys! So, I recently got a new laptop for school (yay!), which means I can get back to blogging on a more regular basis! I just did a pretty big shopping trip on the weekend, including a lot of awesome fall pieces, and I'm planning on doing a Fall Haul post soon. But before I do, I want some input from my readers!

Would you guys rather me do the post as a traditional blog post on here, or as a vlog? I can do a bit of both as well if that's what you guys would prefer. But let me know soon, and I'll try to take pics/film before the end of the week!

Thanks guys, and in the mean time, here's a few of my recent looks!

Unintentional hiatus! (blog update)

Hello there! Long time no post.

I am very sorry about my lack of postage over the summer months! I could lie and say I was busy, but lets be real, I wasn't that busy. Unfortunately, my laptop broke, and I havent had the time or means to get it fixed or buy a new one. Hopefully I can fix that issue soon, or at least find someone to lend me a computer to blog on, hahaha! Currently I am blogging from my iPad, but I can't do any real blogging on here because I can't upload photos from my camera! Hopefully a solution will arise soon enough though, and I can get back to regular posting.

I do have quite a few exciting posts coming up though! Lots of reviews, and a new sponsorship! I also took another trip to Las Vegas this year, so I'll be posting about that as well.

Fashion wise, I will be doing a few Fall/Winter inspiration posts, and (hopefully) some gets posts! My style has been changin pretty radically over the last while, so that should be an exciting experience for all!

And on that note, my hair is no longer blue! If you follow my Twitter, Tumblr, or Instagram (pandalogic) (which you should if you'd like to keep up with me on a more day-to-day basis!), you would know that I dyed my hair a dark black-brown a few weeks ago! As much as I loved the blue, upkeep was getting really expensive and  beginning to stress out my hair. So I decided to give my hair a chance to grow in and get healthy again before I blast it with bleach next!

In other news, I start university on Monday! I am quite excited, and I'm really looking forward to my program and only having to go to class three days a week! I am going into a Visual Arts program though, so two days of my week are just Studio practice sessions so unfortunately I won't be wearing very much glamorous clothing on those days, hahaha. So I think I am going to try and make Tuesday my OoTD day! I'm ying to set goals for myself so that I can ease my way back into blogging.

Before I sign off, I'd really like to thank everyone who is still reading my blog. Thank you guys so much for sticking with me all this time, i really do appreciate it! If it weren't for a few loyal followers, I would probably have given up a long time ago. So thank you guys, you make this blog happen!

And now I will bid you all  good night from my side of the world! Hoping to have another blog post up in the next week or so! If I don't, someone please send me an angry ask or tweet and tell me to post! Haha!

Goodnight y'all, see you sooon!

P.S. I am writing this on my iPad, so please excuse any spelling/grammar errors that I may have missed! Thanks again guys, you're all awesome!

Recent Gets + Style Inspiration!

Howdy y'all! So I'm officially into my third week of summer vacation, and I am thoroughly enjoying it :3 I know this is no excuse for my lack of postage, but I've just been a very laxy TV watching butt for the last couple of days while I recuperated from all the grad parties I've been attending :< hahaha. So far I've rewatched all of Avatar: The Last Airbender, finished off Legend of Korra and Game of Thrones, and just recently started watching Community! All very good, if you haven't watched Game of Thrones yet, I highly recommend it!! *w* It's excellent!

Anyways, onto the main point of this post: some recent summer-y gets! If you follow my Tumblr (which you all should, I blog much more frequently on there, although it's significantly more personal), you'll know I've been heavily influenced by the Pastel Goth style recently! A friend and I have actually started our own Pastel Goth blog, which you can follow here if you're interested!

So here are a few pieces from my most recent shopping trip!

BDG Dip-dye high-waist shorts, Urban Outfitters

Polka dot collared shirt with cut-outs, F21

Sheer star pattern tank with Peter pan collar, F21

Anime North 2012 Report!

Hey everybody! Man has it been a long time since I last blogged! I've been craxy busy getting ready for my final exams, but I finished my last one on Friday, so I am officially done high school now! I graduate on Tuesday, and I'm very excited :3

But this post is to talk about Anime North 2012, which I attended during the last weekend of May! This was my fourth Anime North, and I had a great time as per usual! But let's start with my cosplay from this year. This was the first time I've ever cosplayed more than one thing at a convention; usually I wear one costume the whole weekend, but this year I decided to wear a different one each day!

First up is Melty Granite from Shining Hearts, which I wore on Saturday:

(Truly) Daily Style + Cosplay Progress!

Hey y'all! It sure has been a while since I last blogged :P I can't even say I've been very busy, just a little bit lazy! Haha. I guess you can say I've been a little busy getting ready for proms, since I am a senior this year! And I was asked to two proms in addition to my own school's, so it's been a little stressful trying to prepare for all of those as well as Anime North! I had my first prom last weekend, but my camera's battery wasn't charged so I didn't take any pictures myself ; ^ ;. Thankfully, other people did! I'll post a few pics at the end of this post for those who are interested :3

Anyways, usually when I do a Daily Style post, it's more like a staged daily style than what I truly wear on a day-to-day basis. Meaning that it's usually an outfit for a special occasion or something. But recently I've been trying to take more pictures of my actual daily style to show on my blog, since this is definitely becoming more of a personal blog :P

Anyways, I have two outfits today to show you! (P.S. I am trying out new locations in my room to take outfit pictures, so bear with me! xD)

Necklace: inherited
Top: F21
Skirt: F21

Scarf: F21
Top: Urban Planet
Shorts: F21

Both of these outfits were quite simple in essence, but I really like them! The first one I wore for dinner yesterday (Mother's day!), and the second one I wore to run errands after school today. These are truly outfits that I wear every day :P I was really happy with the second one :D I quite like it, and those are the first pair of high waisted shorts that didn't make me look like an old man, which is AWESOME.

I'm going to try and remember to take pictures of my outfits everyday now, or at least a few times a week so I can do more posts like this! What do you guys think?

And now on to cosplay news! Anime North is approaching VERY quickly (almost too quickly), and I've just started working on my costumes. Yeah. Go me. King of the slackers. Anyways, I finished my Matryoshka Gumi sweater the other day, which if you follow me on Tumblr or my FB fan page you would have seen already! Here are a couple pics in case you don't.

Yay for being cheesy! Anyways, that's done, and pretty much the only other thing I need for this cosplay are striped stockings, which I can buy easily. This was 90% closet cosplay for me, considering all I had to do was stitch the details on the hood! :P But at least it's done now!

Melty however, I have barely even started =_______=;; I've cut some patterns and I've got all my fabric and what not, I just need to start sewing like a mad man now!! And I still need more lace and some notions for the accessory bits. I am super pleased to know that the anime version of Melty does NOT have the ribbon wraps on her gloves or stockings, so I will most likely be omitting those details for now. I'll probably add them after Anime North though, because I want to try and go to FX or some other summer con this year, and I'll probably just re-wear Melty if I do!

I got my contact lenses in the mail today as well, JUST in time! :D I'll probably do a review of them soon, I need to buy new contact solution though :P

And as promised, here are a couple photos from the first prom I went to! Anyways, I'm going to try some fun nail art now, so until next time! :D
