Wigs!

Hey guys! How good of me, blogging two days in a row! :D I'm on a roll right now! Woo!

Anyways, today my second wig arrived in the mail! I was super stoked when I got home from rehearsals, because I was chattering endlessly to people about how excited I was for Anime North and the cosplays I was doing today. So I immediately took it out and tried it on, because when I get a new wig, that's just what I do. So I'm gonna share some photos of my two new wigs, and do some mini-reviews of the eBay sellers that I bought them from!

This was the first wig to arrive. This is for my Melty cosplay, which I am doing for the Saturday of Anime North. The eBay seller I ordered this from is cos-wig. They are located in China, and have 99.6% positive feedback!

The estimated shipping time was between 14 and 20 business days, and it got here in 13! So I was very pleased about that. The wig was packaged well too, in a bubble envelope. The wig was in a wig net, inside of a plastic bag, and came with one of those free black mesh hair nets, which I actually like quite a bit! The seller also packed a little business card in with the wig, which I really liked, since I'll remember to buy from them again! Also, shipping was free and this wig only cost me $24! It's a little thin in a few spots but it's not noticeable unless you are looking directly down on top of my head, hahaha. The fibers are really soft too!

The second wig to arrive is for my Gumi cosplay! This wig was from a seller on eBay named yucui2008. Another seller from China, with 99.7% positive feedback! This wig was $21, and came with free shipping as well.

The estimated shipping time for this one was 15 to 25 business days, and it came in 15, so spot on! This wig was a little less well packaged, as it was not mailed in a bubble envelope, but the bag they sent it in was made of a thick plastic and was well sealed! This wig also came in a wig net inside a plastic bag, and more black mesh hair nets! >:D wahaha. They also sent me a pair of earrings as a free gift, which was very nice! The wig looks a little bit different from the picture they had on the listing, but it's a marginal difference. It's also a little bit more lime-y in colour than I thought it would be, but I'm okay with that! This wig is also really soft, and looks like it'll be super easy to manage :D I'm just going to have to trim the longer parts in the front, since I find them to be a little too long.

I've always had good experiences ordering my cosplay wigs from eBay, although I've heard lots of peoples horror stories about ordering from eBay as well. But usually if they have a really high positive feedback percentage, they are pretty good! I only order if they have something in the 99% or higher ^^.

Anyway, that's all for today! I need to go to bed now, since second semester starts tomorrow (well, I guess today now LOL), and I've got class at 7:40 AM ;__;.

Personal Panda: Let's Get Physical!

Hey everybody! :D Hope y'all had a pleasant day!

So today is February 1st, and it's four months until my favourite convention of the year: ANIME NORTH! I'm really looking forward to this year, as I'm doing not one but two cosplays in a weekend, which is a first for me! I'm also planning on participating in some panels, and I might even be running a workshop! More details to come on that though ;)

Speaking of cosplay, I received the first of my two wigs yesterday, for my Melty cosplay! If you follow me on Tumblr or have liked my fan page, you probably have seen the picture I took of it! If not, I'll actually blog about them once I have both wigs in my possession as to not clog my blog with wig posts :3 Hoping for the second wig to arrive sometime this week!

And now, in relation to the title of this post! I decided a while ago that I wanted to actually get into better shape for this Anime North, but wanted to wait until after the Holiday season (- w - ) harhar... So I decided, February 1st, I'm beginning my "Let's Look Good for Cosplay" training! :D Although it really isn't training...

I'm not going to lie, I have pretty terrible eating habits, and don't exercise as often as I probably should. So I've decided to make some goals for myself to look better for Anime North! I'm not really aiming to lose any weight since I'm perfectly okay with where I am weight-wise, but I could 100% use some toning up =____=;; So here are a few of the things I plan to do to reach my goals!

Drink 8 glasses of water a day (optimally ice cold!)
Stop eating past 9 PM (SO BAD, I AM EATING LASAGNA RIGHT NOW :| AND IT IS ALMOST 1 AM)
Cut out all junk foods and sodas from my diet (I'm so addicted... T___T)
Drink more tea
Eat more regular meals (I'm notorious for skipping breakfast... and lunch ; ^ ;)
Cut out all unnecessary sugars from my diet (that's going to be so hard...)
Do regular toning exercises (at least five times a week)
Spend less time on computer/video games (; ^ ;)
Stretch everyday before dance classes (I'm losing my flexibility!)

It's not much, but it's a start! :D The hardest part is going to be adjusting my eating habits. Especially eating regular meals. I'm always late for school, so I rarely every eat breakfast, and I never have time to make lunch and I don't really like my school's food... ^^;; I know, excuses, excuses. But I'm going to try to at least get breakfast every day! And cutting sodas... I drink so much Coke, it's ridiculous. Like, people shouldn't be allowed to drink this much Coke. So I'm only going to allow myself one a week, if I really am craving it that badly!

Exercise won't be a problem for me since I have dance class everyday anyways, now I'll just add some toning exercises when I get home! :) But spending less time on the computer... oi... That's gonna be a hard one! But hopefully toning exercises will fill up that time xD Plus I'm going to be rehearsing and performing in Phantom of the Opera almost everyday in February, so that's at least one month where I'll be less computer active xD

I'm also aiming to improve my overall skin health so that I can look good in photos too! :D I plan on going to Lush and getting a new skin care regime going, since I've run out of toner and moisturizer and have been too busy to go get new ones ; ^ ;. I'm hoping to order some cotton masks as well that I can use. I've used them before and really liked them! Do any of you guys have a mask that you really like? I've tried the My Beauty Diary ones before, but no others! I'm definitely looking for recommendations! :D

So starting today, I will be trying to get healthier and look better! :D Wish me luck on this journey, haha!

Gong xi fa cai! Today is Chinese New year! :D

It's the Year of the Dragon this year! The Dragon year is very auspicious, so anything could happen! Let's hope we're all very lucky this year! :D I certainly hope I will be!

This year I've been paying particularly good attention to CNY customs and superstitions! A few of which I didn't know about until this year. Like you're not supposed to wash your hair or sweep your house on the day of, or else you'll wash/sweep your good luck away! Another good luck charm, so to speak, is to wear new clothes on CNY! So, I did a little CNY shopping a few days ago! Here are some of my gets!

The Hello Kitty cardigan I actually got for Christmas, but I really felt like sharing it because it's so cute! :D I tried to buy some brightly colours items, and some spring-y styles as well! Even though its still dead cold here in Canada, I'm hoping Spring weather will come sooner this year! ; O ;

Also, I'm developing a ridiculous obsession with cropped tees, so you'll be seeing lots of those in my gets and outfits in the upcoming months!

I also bought one of F21's cute ecobags (only $1.50!), and this one features a super cute print of a Japanese robot family! I really love the dog :D

On a tech related note, I finally realized why I couldn't upload videos from my new camera! It's because it records in AVCHD, and I need a special video converter to use the files on my camera ; ^ ;. So there won't be any new videos on my channel until I can get some decent software to convert the video! Do any of you know of any good ones?!

Anyways, I have to go finish one of my FSEs now, so hopefully you'll be hearing from me again soon!

Anime North 2012: Plans!

Hey everyone!

So I'm back at school now, and I've been working quite hard on my end of semester projects and studying for my exams! I only have two, but they are going to be hard enough. But I'm taking a break right now to get ready for our end of semester performance, so I felt like I had enough time to blog today! :D

So today, I want to talk about my plans for my cosplay at Anime North 2012! Whats cool about this year is that I've already made and set my cosplay plans! Normally I'm switching cosplays up until the month before the convention, but this year I've already chosen my cosplays and I'm sticking with them!

My main cosplay (for Saturday), is a character named Melty from a video game (and soon to be anime) called Shining Hearts!

She is a witch, but all her attacks in the game are based off of ice cream! Hahaha. She is so me. I also am very excited to have a large hat like hers, because last year I got major sunburns on my shoulders and back. So now I get some sun protection built into my costume! :D WOOHOO!

I really like the character designs from all of the Shining series, but especially the ones in Shining Hearts! I actually have a group coming with me as a few of the other characters as well! And I'm thinking of making Melty's sidekick (Sorbet, the little guy by her feet), into a sort of purse! Functional, and actually goes with the costume!

For Sunday, I chose a much simpler cosplay, but one that still has lots of impact! I chose to do my second Vocaloid cosplay, Matryoshka Gumi!

I was going to do Matryoshka Luka, since I already have the wig, but Gumi's design is much more vivid and eye catching.

I'm going to (most likely) be teaching dance covers at a K-Pop workshop on Sunday, so I wanted something that I could move around in easily! Plus Sunday is usually a more lazy day for me, so I want something that won't be to cumbersome or uncomfortable either!

I'm really excited to do the makeup for this cosplay! It'll be a good chance for me to start working on my more theatrical makeup styles! I haven't decided on whether I'll powder my face or not yet... but we shall see!

And those are my costumes for Anime North this year! I've already ordered both of the wigs for these cosplays, and hopefully they'll arrive in the next couple of weeks or so! I'll post pictures as soon as I get them! I hope they look good ; ^ ;

Anyways, since I have all this free time, I'm gonna try and work on my FSEs now ;___;

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year once again!

Today's post is going to talk about my holidays! I've been meaning to make posts all throughout the holiday season, but I haven't had the time until now, and it will be much more succinct if I just do it all in one post! So let's get started!

Firstly, I'll talk about the completion of one of my 12x12 goals, which was making a gingerbread house! Every year, my best friend's family holds this MASSIVE gingerbread house building competition. And believe me, this thing is serious. Everyone spends 5-6 hours constructing very over the top gingerbread houses! I can't find my picture of it, but the winners of the competition this year made a gingerbread house cattle farm. A WHOLE FARM! It took a up a whole table by itself! Anyways, here's some photos of my teams construction!

Our team made a Christmas beach house! And if you can't tell what those blue things on the beach are, they are gummy sharks :) Basking in the sun, hahaha! We won the award for "Christmas at the Beach"... you can tell they make up the awards on the spot sometimes!! Hahahaha.

Next I have some hair and makeup shots from various parties during this Holiday season. I don't have any full outfit shots because I was either in too much of a hurry or it was too late in the day to take good pictures. But I plan to take lots more outfit pics this year!!

Actually did my hair for once! This was for my Christmas party at work, so I wanted to look nice~ But I had to work until an hour before the party, so I didn't change my make up ; ^ ; But at least my hair looked good. I also kind of have a derpy face in the first picture. Oh well. Herp derp.

This look was for my friends birthday party downtown! My outfit for this was relatively plain, just a black top and high-waisted skirt, plus my black Litas. I love those earrings though * O * Unfortunately they kept falling out of my ears while I was dancing!! D:< (P.S. pics with my bangs down are from after I got home... which is why I look a little ragged!!)

I feel sad that I didn't get any decent outfit shots from the whole of my winter break! ; ^ ; But alas! I shall try harder from now on!! Anyways, I want to share some photos of me and my family from the holidays now! And few of my Christmas "gets"! :3

I had a very good Christmas, and my family was way too good to me!! ; ^ ; I feel quite spoiled, harhar... But this year I had a job so I bought everyone else awesome presents too! Christmas was so weird this year because my sisters were only around for a short period of time, since one is away at school and the other is doing co-op in another country!!

In further news, I'm driving up to Hamilton/Toronto to visit family and then drop off Kirstin at the airport so she can fly back to Germany! It will be sad to see my sisters go again! My house is so empty without them ;__;

Anyways, we're leaving pretty early tomorrow morning, so I'm going to finish watching Return of the King, and then go to bed!

Transition time!

Hey everyone! So I know I haven't blogged in a while, but y'all know how the holidays can get and I really haven't had very much time to just sit around and blog! But regardless, I hope everyone had a marvelous holiday season and continue to have one in the following days!

I'm worried I won't be able to get to my laptop in time to post this, so it's gonna be a picture-less blog post today!

So 2011 has been a pretty good year for me! It's been hella busy, but so fun! I've done a lot this year, sand I'm hoping to do more in 2012!! So let's recap all of the things that have happened in 2011:

- travelled to New York City, Chicago, and Las Vegas
- got a new camera
- choreographed my first (and second) dances by myself
- started doing reviews for circle lenses and makeup
- started my YouTube channel
- had my first spare in my schedule
- got my first job
- turned 17
- successfully pulled off my biggest cosplay yet
- bought my Jeffery Campbell Litas

I guess I haven't necessarily had the most exciting year, but it's been a good one and I look forward to the upcoming year immensely! And while we're on the topic, I should go through my 12 by 2012 list and see which I've accomplished and which I haven't!

1) I still haven't applied for my uni choices, but that was mostly because I was still confused about what career path I'm aiming for. Now that I've decided on my career path, I'll be ready to apply for uni in the new year!

2) Same as number one, but it's happening soon!

3) When I realized I didn't need my Advanced Functions class for the program I'm going into, I dropped it. But I did get my grade up before I dropped the class, so we can count this one as accomplished! YAY!

4) I changed my ballet variation after making this goal, but it's so much closer to perfection than my other variation would have been! So I'll count this'd as accomplished too!

5) I haven't had the time or money to start making jewelery yet, but I did make some accessories for some friends and secret Santa gifts, so this goal is like, half-accomplished!

6) If you follow my YouTube channel, you'll know that this goal hasn't been fulfilled yet!! ; ^ ;

7) I have been taking more pictures, which you will see in my next post (which will probably be up in the next day or two!). So here's another accomplished goal!

8) I did make a gingerbread house (pics coming soon!!) but no gingerbread men! :( Another goal half-accomplished!

9) I've been hanging ut lots with my sisters and family this holiday season, especially in the last few days! We're all getting very fat... =_____=;; lol

10) Did have a Christmas movie marathon with my sisters, and I'm currently planning my LoTR marathon for the New year, since I got the extended edition box set for Christmas! Woohoo! Accomplished!

11) I'm going to hang out with some friends in a few hours! So let's say this is accomplished! Haha

12) I've started putting some money away for both events, although its not much since I put a lot of my paychecks into buying awesome gifts for everyone this year! But this goal has been accomplished in my mind!

So although I didn't accomplish all of my goals, I do think I did pretty well considering I started pret late in 2011! Haha, but I feel pretty accomplished and proud of what I did get done! This list has been pretty good as a motivator for me. Now I really just need to apply for uni! Maybe I'll do that before I go out tonight... Hahaha!!

Now as far as resolutions, I don't usually do them. But I feel like what's the hurt in making some this year? So here are my resolutions for 2012!

- eat less McDonalds
- drink more water
- save more money
- be nicer to everyone
- get my iron levels up so I can donate blood
- blog more often!!!!

Let's hope I can keep up with those! They don't seem to hard, haha. But we'll see how that goes! Anyways, I'm about to finish getting ready for some parties tonight! So to all of my wonderful followers, a very Happy New Year to you! Let's all do our best in 2012!!

12 by 2012 (A Project of Goals)

Hey everyone! So, I was just perusing my blog roll before I went to bed, when I came upon the always lovely Sara Mari's blog post about the 12 by 2012 Project! After reading her post, and the original post by Oh, Hello Friend, I decided I would take part in this project/meme!

I'll give you a brief summary of the project, but for a better description, definitely check out Oh, Hello Friend's post about the project! Basically, this project is a list of twelve things you want to accomplish before 2012 (so by December 31st, 2011 @ 11:59 PM). It's a great motivator to get things done, so I thought I would give it a go!

Here's my list of 12 before 2012:

Apply to all my university choices (yikes!).
Apply for university scholarships (more yikes!!).
Get my Advanced Functions grade up (hopefully higher than 70!).
Perfect my ballet variation en pointe.
Start making jewelry & accessories (and hopefully selling it!).
Film a new video for my Youtube Channel (doesn't matter what!).
Take more pictures (of everything).
Make a gingerbread house and an army of gingerbread men.
Spend as much time as possible with my sisters during the Christmas holidays (and my family as well).
Have a Christmas movie marathon. Or a Lord of the Rings movie marathon.
Hang out with friends on New Year's Eve.
Start saving money for prom dress/Anime North.

I feel like there's nothing very profound on my list, but there doesn't really have to be! Plus I got in the game a little late here, so I feel like this is a good list for me!

Daily Style: New boots!

I haven't done a daily style post in quite some time, but now that I have a new camera, I've been much more motivated to record my day-to-day casual outfits and post them! And I just recently got some new boots, which I've been absolutely in love with, and trying to coordinate as much as possible!

They are from the Simply Vera by Vera Wang line, which I purchased at Kohl's! I'd never really shopped at a Kohl's before this, and I was thoroughly impressed with the brands and prices they had available! I will definitely be shopping there again soon!! Now, onto the outfits!

Bought the scarf and cords recently as well! I've been on the hunt for really nice corduroy pants for a really long time, and I really love these ones! So comfy and a really nice colour too :3 This was just a simple outfit for school, but I really like it! :D

Wore this outfit on Remembrance day (as you can see from the poppy on the lapel of my sweater). Didn't really have any particular inspiration for this outfit, I was in a bit of a retro girly mood that morning I guess. Loved this outfit all the same!

I'm trying to post more often, but between school, having a weak immune system, and my new job, its been tough! Hopefully things will start to slow down a bit so I can blog more! There are still so many things I want to blog about!! ;_;

Youmacon 2011 (photo heavy!)

Hey guys! I'm actually being pretty punctual with my blog posts now, haha! So, as you all know, I went to Youmacon this Saturday! I went with two of my friends, and we had such a great time! Youmacon is definitely one of the smaller conventions, but it's gotten a lot bigger in recent years! Attendance last year was over 9000, I believe? Don't quote me on that, but it was quite a large group! And it definitely felt like there were more people there this year in comparison to last year. But anyways, lets get to the photos! I had my new camera with me, so the quality is quite nice too :D

First up are some pictures of the location!

The first two photos are of Windsor's skyline. Youmacon is in downtown Detroit at the Renaissance Centre, which is right on the Detroit River. And there's a large outdoor area that's right by the water, so you got a nice view of the city while you were there. The third pictures is of (me holding) the Rennaisance Centre! It's such a gorgeous building to hold a convention in, because the whole atrium of the building is glass so you get lots of natural light all day. It was especially nice for photos! The only thing is some of the areas of the RenCen are kind of smallish, so some events got a little crowded at times, but other than that, very nice! And the convention this year was so well organized, the crowding was hardly a bother!

This is a photo of the atrium from the third floor of the atrium. It's very open and a good area for meeting up with people or sitting and relaxing between panels, etc. There are also a lot of shops lining the atrium, where you can purchase food and drinks, as well as a food court further back on the first floor. Also, since this building is the GM building, the very centre houses a showroom of cars!! Which makes for some interesting photo ops, haha.

Now let's take a peek at some of my cosplay photos!

These are some photos I took at home to show off my makeup, etc! I just kept it really light and basic, since Luka doesn't have a very defined look, especially not in the MV. I love those blue contacts though <3 They really stand out in photos, and they really pull the whole look together. And I was up until 2 am finishing my hairpiece ORZ. It ended up looking really nice though!

These are some of the shots we took outside of the RenCen! I really wish I had had a light reflector board for these photos, as the sun was VERY strong that day, and it was causing a lot of really harsh shadows in some of these pictures. But I feel like they turned out really well regardless! I especially love the first and last one! The last photo is the post in which Luka sits in the MV where she is wearing the black dress, which was the version I was doing!

I also took some pictures of my friends Leah's cosplay! She was cosplaying Takane Manaka from Love Plus!

As far as other people's cosplays go, I saw lots of really good costumes this year! I wasn't really taking that many photos, but I did take some! As far as Youmacon's costume quality goes, it's been getting better and better every year! Anyways, here are some general photos from the con, of cosplay, random things, and other people!

Those are all of the photos I took (at least the ones that turned out nicely!!). All in all, it was a good convention, and I'm glad I was able to make it out for at least one of the days! I look forward to attending again next year, it just gets better every year!

Halloween!

Hey everyone! So as promised, I am going to share some of my Spirit Week/Halloween photos with you guys! I meant to put them up sooner, but you know how life is sometimes. A pain in the butt. Anyways, here are some of the photos!

Photos from Vampire Day!

Vampire day was not so much about the outfit. The focus was more on the makeup! I had custom Vampire fangs on the whole day, which were definitely the key piece to this whole outfit. And my pink circle lenses made me look "possessed" and creepy, as I was told multiple times the day I wore this outfit, hahaha.

Super Sweet Thursday!

For the super sweet day, I focused more on a "sweet-style" as opposed to covering myself in candy, haha. You can't really tell in the photos, but my eye makeup was completely candy colours, and my blush was BRIGHT pink! Plus a really glossy raspberry lip! The outfit itself was somewhat Fairy-kei inspired.

Actual Halloween costume - Sailor! (though technically a Captain, haha)

This Halloween I wasn't very creative and got a store bought costume ; ^ ; I know, its so baddd! But I was already busy planning all the other costumes and my Youmacon cosplay, so this just ended up being the best course of action!

My face shots were all from the Halloween Friday, when I went to a party at one of my friends house! It was super fun, I had such a good time and met lots of great people :D Of course, it not being a school related event, I decided to be a Halloween skank... hahaha. I ended up wearing my sailor costume without my black pants, with black knee highs and my Litas. I know somebody took pictures of it at the party, but I can't believe I didn't!! I'll have to hunt those down!

I was sooo happy with my hair though! I haven't curled my hair in a long, long time, and last week I curled it twice, which was totally awesome! And I really loved my makeup. It was toned down gyaru look, with a simple top set of lashes, and more emphasis on the cheeks. I did my combo cream+powder blush look, which I've been sporting a lot recently! It really makes a good impact, with super vibrant colour! I'll talk about that in another post though :)

I know I said I'd post photos for ever costume I wore last week, but I was out sick on Black&Orange Monday, I forgot to take pictures for Witch & Wizard Wednesday, and my zombie look on Friday was... sub-par, to say the least.

But be prepared for a whole hoard of photos of daily style, because...

I GOT MY NEW CAMERA TODAY!!!!!! :D

I am honestly the most ecstatic person today. All I could talk about all day was my camera, and it's finally in my possession! It's so nice, and takes great pictures! I'm still working on getting used to the new controls and what not, but hopefully some shots from that soon!

Personal Panda: Recent (& upcoming!) Events!

Hey everybody! So, I know I've been like, the slowest blogger ever recently, but hopefully everything will be going up from here!

The next couple of weeks I am VERY excited for, and for two reasons. Reason number one is that the upcoming week is SPIRIT WEEK at my school! Most schools will have a Spirit Day, but my school likes to go a little bit further than that and have full weeks of school spirit! And since this years first Spirit Week is leading up to Halloween day, this years themes are mostly Halloween themed! And I definitely plan on posting pictures of all my outfits for the next week!

The themes this year are: Black & Orange Monday, Vampire Tuesday, Witch & Wizard Wednesday, Super Sweet Thursday, and Zombie Friday! And then the following Monday is Halloween, so it will end with everyone wearing Halloween costumes!

The second reason why I'm so excited is because the next weekend is Youmacon! I'm so stoked, because I've been dying to cosplay for the last month or so, and now I basically get two weeks of cosplay, haha! I checked the guest list today to, and I'm very excited to see some of the guest this year! I really want to go and see Lemon Demon/Potter Puppet Pals this year, as I always seem to miss them when I go to Youmacon!

While I'm on the topic of Youmacon, lets talk cosplay! Youmacon is in less than two weeks, and I haven't started my cosplay. Ha. Haha. Orz. However, I did get my Luka wig delivered to me today, and I tried it on immediately!

I look gross because I just got home from school ; ^ ;

The lighting in this photo is subpar, but you get the idea. The wig is soooo soft and silky, and the bangs only need to be trimmed a little bit! It also came with a really good wig cap, so I'm super psyched. When I have my hands on a better camera, I'll take some better pictures of the wig and what not!

And the last note I'm going to post here is: I got a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise the lord, I'm actually going to be able to afford cosplay now! I start training next week, and will be working by early November! I'm so excited about this. Please wish me luck xD

Personal Panda: 17 forever!

I'm a horrible blogger. I know.

But I celebrated my 17th birthday on Wednesday, and it was awesome! :D I'm getting a new camera from my parents, and I am extremely excited! The main reason why I haven't been blogging as much lately is that all my blog plans are for posting gets and coords, but I haven't had a camera to take pictures with!! And it's very frustrating, because I've had so much I want to show you guys and I haven't been able too! I also haven't found a good place to photograph my clothes yet, and its proving very difficult to do so in my attic room :S

But other than that, I've been quite busy with school recently, I actually just finished a project ten minutes ago xD Dance is being very taxing, a lot of hard work, and its very tiring. And I've been selected to do the annual tours to all the grade schools to talk about our expanded arts program, so now I have to choreograph a solo for that. Woo.

In other news, I had a preliminary job interview today! I was super excited, and I really hope I get called back for the second interview~ I need a job so badly ; ^ ; I am suffering!

On a cosplay note, I am ordering my Luka wig soon (I hope), and I'm on the hunt for silk flowers to use on the headpiece! Hopefully I'll have some progress pics to show off soon!

Anyways, I'm going to go play my new favourite game, Fiesta! It's a pretty good free MMORPG! I've been addicted to it the last week or so. Do any of you play Fiesta? If you do, and are playing on the Apoline server, let me know! I'm always looking for people to play with :D

Personal Panda: School is...

Absolutely ridiculous. Totally awesome, but just so busy! I'm into my second week of grade 12, and it's been really hectic! I've mostly been busy with dance, since the grade 12's are in charge of presenting the semester 1 show! And we've been doing our back to school dance boot camp, and I can honestly say that I've been too sore to blog. As lame as that sounds, it's true. But the last couple days I've been doing techie work, so I was feeling good today! Just really sleepy, since my classes start at 7:40 AM everyday ; ^ ;

Also, I've been meaning to take pictures of my outfits for school and what not, but I keep forgetting! I always want to use the DSLR, but I don't have my tripod, and my cell phone camera is just so... cell phone-y. How do you guys feel about me using my cell phone to take pictures? I really have been loving all my outfits recently, and I want to share them, so I might just do it anyways! So hopefully expect to see some OOTD shots soon ^^

On a fashion-y note, I will be doing a Fall gets post relatively soon, I just need to gather all my clothes! They are spread at two houses right now, so once I can get them all in one place, I will get on that! I've gotten lots of nice Fall colours in my wardrobe, which makes me really happy! And lots of cute dresses :3

And on a cosplay note, I have decided to cosplay as Luka Megurine, Just Be Friends version for my next upcoming convention (Youmacon)! I plan on starting work on it soon, so I will try and be a good cosplayer and upload lots of progress pictures. Its not a very difficult outfit to make, but I want to show my progress anyways! I'm really excited to make the flowered hairpiece <3 I might use that as part of my Halloween costume too? But haven't really decided yet xD

And big note to lovers of Murua and Forever 21! I caught this photo on Sara Mari's tumblr of the Murua stripe pencil skirt, by F21! Is that a replica or what?

I think though, if I see it in store, I will probably buy it, even though it is such an obvious replica. But keep your eyes peeled for it!

Anyways, I have to go start working on some choreography for my class piece! I'm planning a contemporary dance, and I will hopefully upload some progress videos from that too!

Fall Inspiration & Wishlist (+ back to school!!)

Hey everyone! So I keep forgetting to put the rest of my Las Vegas photos on my computer, so that post will probably be on hold for a little bit. But it will be coming soon!

Anyways, I did my post about Fall Trends a few weeks back, but I didn't really specify what I would be buying and fawning over this Fall! A few other bloggers have been doing this (Mitsu of Universal Doll for one!), and I decided to jump on the bandwagon! First though, some of my inspirations this Fall.

Let's be honest here, who isn't inspired by Momoko? Leading force behind Murua, I love all of her coordinates! They are all so classy but fun at the same time. That Murua pencil skirt is to die for! Although her coordinates are always attention grabbing, they always looks fab.

I'm really inspired by all things Dazzlin', but their shop staff are really what inspires me! They really know the clothes and their coordinates are always perfect! I really love all of Dazzlin' A/W clothing, and the shop staff just pull it off so well! It all looks so classic and cute, and just so nice for Fall!

My last inspiration for Fall is Bebe Zeva, from Fated To Be Hated. She has so many awesome and quirky coordinates (I found her on Lookbook, by the way), and they all are so unique! She has really inspired me to be more original in my style and make things more my own. And she is just absolutely GORGEOUS. I have a massive girl crush on her as of today, just FYI. Definitely check out her blog and her Lookbook for coordinates, because they are fawesome.

Anyways, now that you've seen some of my inspiration for this fall, here are some of the things that are on my wishlist!

I got a fever. And the only prescription, is more hats. Specifically this one. I am really loving that all these felt hats are in style for Fall, but its hard for me to make use of them since I'm not allowed to wear hats in school. But I adore this hat from Urban Outfitters, it really reminds me of Indiana Jones! And I'm a huge fan of Indiana Jones xD

These shoes really make me think of creepers, but with a wedge heel! I tried these on in store (ALDO shoes), and they are heavenly! Nice height and make my legs look really long! I also love the little pop of leopard on the tongue of the shoe.

Absolutely love this Retro Lace Dress from F21! I love the cutting of this dress, and the lace looks so cool! And I also love, love, love the colour! Very fall, a very dark mustard colour. And I really like the added touch of the ruffles on the sleeve and hem of the dress.

I've been on the hunt for really nice ripped skinnies for a while, and I have fallen in love with this pair from F21! Firstly, love that they come in this awesome camel colour! And secondly, they have a really nice cutting and fit to them, so that's always good ^^.

I love the idea of the removable Peter Pan collar, and I really like this one from MURUA. I love that its sequined and as the random colourful stones all over it in the classic Fall colours. I can already think of so many things I could wear this with!

I love this layered tank dress from Urban Outfitters so so so much! It comes in a billion colours, and is very good for layering with other items! The only thing is that its very sheer, but I could just throw a slip under there!

As soon as I saw this Tiger sweater from Dazzlin', I was madly in love with it! I just love that the tiger has bow tie xD. I'm also a big fan of the mustard colouring for Fall, so this sweater just works out perfectly for me!

I've been dying to find a nice pair of trouser shorts WITHOUT a zipper in the front, and I finally found some on the F21 webstore! The cutting looks very nice and I'm hoping to that they will flatter my shape!

I've been on the hunt for really interesting jeans for my wardrobe, because as much as I love my basics, everyone needs some fun jeans to wear with simple tops! I love these Z-Cut jeans from Urban Outfitters, they look very edgy and cool! They also come in an army green colour, I can't choose between the two!

I REALLY want this multi stud set of earrings from Betsey Johnson. I'm planning on getting a few more piercings in my ears, and I want these for when I can change the jewelry! I absolutely adore the colour of the big green stone, its so nice!

I love these Jeffery Campbell flats! They style of the shoe itself is very "Grandma", but the studs make it sooo coool! I'm making it my mission to own as many pairs of old lady/man shoes that are super hardcore.

I love this sheer Polka dot maxi skirt from F21! I've been on the hunt for a nice maxi skirt forever, and I really like the look of this one. And I feel like it'd go so nicely with my Litas! It'd be cool because you'd be able to see them through the fabric of the skirt.

I've been a huge fan of Betsey Johnsons handbags and purses for ever! I've bought quite a few bags of hers, and I really love this one too! It's her School Gal Satchel, and I wish I could have it in time for school! I actually looks quite roomy on the inside (as far as I can tell from the photos on the website). I have a huge weakness for her bags! If you ever need me to do something for you, I can easily be bribed by one of her bags.

Now, on a more serious note: I start school tomorrow ; ^ ;. I'm very sad that my summer vacation is over! But I'm also very excited, because this is my last year of high school! And then its time for the real world. Woohoo :\

But I decided I'm going to try and take more pictures of my outfits for school and post them. I want to start showing my real daily style to you guys, and I'm hoping I'll be able to do so more often! Today Was The Best Day EVER.

You wanna know why!? Because I am in Las Vegas, I ate the best tuna ever, I bought an awesome head band, AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are honestly the coolest shoe I have ever had the honour of owning. Seriously. I was passing by a shoe store in the Planet Hollywood shops, and these immediately jumped out at me! I was so psyched to see JC's IN THE FLESH, and be able to covet them like I have always wanted to!

And honestly, these shoes are so comfortable and easy to wear! Even though they are so high (5" heel with 2" platform!), they are very easy to walk in, and just so awesome. I had the best time watching people stare at them all night when we were out for dinner ;D

Speaking of dinner, I had the most delicious food today at Emeril Lagasse's restaurant at the MGM Grand, and I ate Red Chile Crusted Ahi Tuna over Pineapple & Coconut rice with tempura Bok Choy and Dark Rum Syrup. Long name, I know. BUT IT WAS SO DELICIOUS.

(I had already eaten some of this when I took the picture... I'M SUCH A BAD BLOGGER D:)

I was kind of worried when I saw the fish and it was so rare! But it was PERFECT. The tuna was sooooo silky and tender and buttery! It all but melted in your mouth! And the rice was really sweet and yummy <3 I just want to eat it all the time!!

Anyways, its getting pretty late here and I must be going to bed! I'm going to do a full Vegas post probably when I get home, so please look forward to it!

Fall Trends!

OMG, an actual post from PandaLogic?! YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING!

Naw, I'm not kidding! I finally am getting around to some actual fashion posts on this here blog! And today I'm tackling the ever popular topic of FALL TRENDS! Yessir, it's time! As much as I love seeing Fall clothing, it also makes me sad because that means my summer is pretty much over and its time to head back to school ;___; But the clothes kind of make up for that!

So in this post, I'm going to tackle trending colours, patterns, styles, and key pieces! So lets get right to it!

COLOURS

This Fall, its all about those traditional Autumn colours like burgundy/wine, deep red, mustard yellow, burnt orange/ochre, and viridian. Neutral colours are also very important, but the browns and beiges will be the reigning neutrals this season!

Some examples of some of these key colours:

Deep red (EMODA)

Mustard yellow (H&M)

Viridian (Cecil McBee) (NOTE: Viridian can be more of a blue colour as well)

Burnt orange (Forever 21)

Wine (Urban Outfitters)

Beige/camel (Ank Rouge)

Just looking at these colours makes me really think "Fall". You will definitely see a lot of these colours popping up not only online, but also in stores around you! Just be on the look for them, and you will find them! I know H&M has tons of mustard coloured stuff, and Forever 21 has lots of these warm fall colours as well! Gyaru brand wise, Mode staples like Murua and EMODA have a lot of these Fall colours in their line ups as well. But you won't find these colours just in Mode. Retro girly has a strong foothold for Fall using lots of these colours, and I feel like it will continue on well into the Winter months as well.

PATTERNS

Pattern wise, plaid is a very Fall pattern and very reminiscent of school girls. But plain old plaid is not happening this Fall. Vary your plaids with different styles, sizes, and colours to make them fresh! Another very hip pattern for this Fall are dots! Very feminine and flirty, and combined with the bold Fall colours, make a great statement! Some other patterns that are making appearances this Fall are leopard, stripes, and Ethnic prints!

Lots of very basic patterns this Fall, and they should be very easy to find online and in stores! I'm loving all these patterns for Fall, and you will definitely be seeing me wearing them! What is your favourite pattern for Fall?

STYLES

Style wise for this Fall, there are two styles that I find are going to be very popular, for everybody. Those two are Retro girly/Vintage and Colour block. And this is for a few reasons. Retro girly and vintage style combines very well with the rich, earthy colours of Fall. A lot of Retro girly pieces from the Spring seasons will carry over very well into the Fall/Winter seasons. And the vintage look is not going to be dying out anytime soon! Keep your Peter pan collars and bow tie necks on hand for the Fall!

Urban Outfitters

The other style that is becoming very big this season is Colour blocking. Colour blocking is pretty self-explanitory in itself. It is the combination of clothing and accessories in bold, complimentary colours. Some example combinations are blue x red, yellow x purple and orange x pink. Bold pops of colour combined with monochromatic colours (black and white) are also very popular. Murua is doing lots of colour blocking in their Fall line up, so definitely check them out for colour blocking inspiration!

KEY PIECES

To wrap up this post, here are a few key pieces I've chosen that are very popular this season in every style, and I hope you can incorporate into your wardrobes for the season as I hope to!

First up is the pleated skirt. Pleated skirts come in all sorts of lengths, patterns, and colours, but its the size of the pleat itself that you want to be looking at this season. The smaller the pleat, the better. Teeny-tiny pleats look super retro. Try and find them in bold colours and patterns to make it more modern!

The next key piece for Fall is the Cold weather Maxi dress! Usually store only break out the maxi dresses as resort wear and summer time pieces. But this year, they are taking the maxi dress to a whole new level by making it a key Fall/Winter piece! Try finding maxi dresses in seasonal colours, with simple/subdued patterns, and sleeves! Of course, you could wear a sleeveless maxi dress, but pair it with a cozy cardigan to keep yourself warm! (Pro tip: make use of belts to define your waist in a maxi dress!)

In terms of hand bags, the verdict for Fall is: square! Big or small, Square bags are the IT bag for the season! Look for classier, leather (faux or real) bags, with clasps or buckles. If you can find a two-tone one, bonus points for you! Embellishments on these bags are also something to look out for (or add youself!)

As for shoes, there are two predominant styles for this season: Chunky heels and Oxfords! Both of these style have been prevalent in the last few seasons as well, and they aren't going away! Chunky heels are a great way to add boldness to any simple outfit. Look for rich materials and textures, as well as bold colours. Oxfords can be heeled or flat, either way, a great vintage/mannish piece to go with super Retro girly outfits. Standard oxford colours are nice, but try and find some in more unique colours (even metallics!)

Shoes are my favourite way to boost a plain outfit, so try and stray from neutrals this season! If you're unsure about them though, try finding a cheaper pair at a store like Forever 21. Then if you like the look, you can go and splurge on fancier heels if you want! I myself would kill for a pair of the Red Glitter Jeffery Campbell Litas.

Cosplay Conundrum!

Hey guys! So, since I've decided to integrate more of my cosplay life into this blog, I want to get some input from some of you guys on what my next cosplay should be!

My next convention is Youmacon, which takes place in early November (click here for their website). It's a smaller convention, and still pretty young, but its close to me and still lots of fun! And who am I to deny myself a reason to cosplay?

Anyways, so today I'd like to ask you a question: who should I cosplay!?

I have two options that I was thinking of doing for this convention, which are:

Nanami Haruka, from Uta no Prince-sama!

Fairy Drops!

Hello everybody! Today I am doing a non-sponsored review of the hit mascara FAIRY DROPS 'Scandal Queen'! I've been hearing lots of great things about this mascara so I decided to give it a try since it is now available at Sephora! Here is the description of the mascara given by the people at Sephora:

"This do-it-all mascara is blended with fiber to give you lush, doll-like lashes. The unique brush catches even the tiniest lashes, defines, lengthens, and provides all-day curl.

FAIRYDROPS mascara was created by Japanese TV personality Aya Yasuda. Realizing that the eyes are the secret to making a great impression, she was inspired to create a new mascara wand that is now patented in Japan. The Scandal Queen formula is available exclusively in the U.S."

As you can see from the photo, the brush has a very interesting shape! It's like three little balls all lined up instead of just your usual straight brush. They are also on a curve, so that they can give your eyelashes an extra curl, without using a eyelash curler! Sounds great, right?

This mascara is also free of sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, phthalates, GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms), or triclosan. Pretty good!

So, as much as they say this mascara will curl your lashes without need for an eyelash curler, my lashes did not seem much more curled! In that respect, I was a little disappointed. However, when used WITH an eyelash curler, they do hold the curl very well! The formula is quite nice for people with stiff and pointy eyelashes like mine that cannot hold curl on their own!

It is also somewhat waterproof, but not as waterproof as some other waterproof mascaras I've used. Overall though, it was very nice! Very nice formula, and an interesting brush to use! And the packaging is super cute too! Which was kind of what swayed me over buying Urban Decay's new super waterproof mascara Cannonball, which I want to try next!

I would not recommend this mascara for its CURLING qualities, because it didn't live up to my expectations in that respect, however, as a regular mascara, it does work quite nicely and does the job! It runs at around $24 USD ($28 CDN), so if you are willing to shell out the cash, its definitely worth a try!

Daily Style: Let's catch up!

Hey everyone! So I'm about half way through my summer break now (IT GOES BY SO FAST D:), and currently vacationing at my grandparents house in New Brunswick! It's so lovely here, compared to the heat waves in Southern Ontario where I'm from :( But I digress!

So, as of very recently, I've noticed a change in my style. And I've decided I no longer have the right to call my self a gyaru. Maybe gyaru inspired, but I'm no longer gyaru. I rarely wear my lashes or do up my hair, and even if I do, its hardly up to par with other gyaru. So I've officially un-labelled myself as a gyaru. My style is more gyaru inspired than anything else. And that will also be the direction this blog goes in as well. I will still be posting about gyaru fashion, etc, but I will also be talking about more of my personal life and other things I do, like dance and cosplay, since they are also a big part of my life. Comfort:

Ok, so these lenses aren't QUITE 15 mm (they are 14.8), but I'm still ranking them up there with being some of the most comfortable lenses I've worn to date, despite their size! There was a little discomfort when putting them in the first time, but after I took them out and cleaned them again, they were perfectly fine! Also, I don't know if it was just me, or a manufacturing error, but one of the lenses would NOT look centered! But overall, they get a 4.8/5

Size:

Definitely a good enlargement, not so big as too look unnatural, and not to small to go unnoticed! Not much to say other than that. 5/5 for size, definitely what I expected!

Colour:

The colour of these lenses are VERY nice! I LOVE how they went from the bright green to an amber like colour that blended nicely with my brown eyes! The colours show up very nicely on the eyes, and are a great pop of colour! Definitely a 5/5!

Overall:

Definitely one of my new favourites, a great lens for sure! Good enlargement, GREAT colour and pretty darn comfortable too! A 4.9/5 from me!

Personal Panda: Almost done!

Hey everyone! So, in just a few more days, my hiatus will officially be over! WOO! I had my Chemistry exam today, and I totally aced it! So I'm allowing myself to blog a little bit before I return to studying for my Physics exam, which I am fairly certain I am not going to do very well on (´；ω；`)

I finally got a new cellphone, and it actually takes quite nice photos! So I can take photos on the go now, which I find to be very convenient! Here's a collection of snaps from the last few weeks that I have been on hiatus:

Wearing new Bambi Apple Green lenses in the first photo, review coming soon! And a dress I wore my sisters birthday. The makeup in the first photo is pretty much what I've been doing everyday for the last little while.

Bought a really comfy cotton romper! Also, my school has been extraordinarily hot the last few weeks, sometimes reaching 40 degrees Celsius INDOORS!! So I've become quite attached to that top-knot hairstyle for the especially hot days. I also purchased a FANTASTIC coral lipstick (worn in second photo), and I want to do a whole post on it! I will try :D

It was finally nice enough to go out on my dad's boat a few weekends ago, it was very nice! I am a very good boat driver ヽ(´▽`)/ I also had a bonfire with some friends, we made s'mores and it was really fun! I love having bonfires in the summer, it's by far one of my most favourite things to do.

The previous photos are the two ways I spend time in during study periods: sleeping, and making paper crane farms! I know, very productive, right? You'll be glad to know that I rocked the exam for the class I was sleeping in, hahaha!

Anyways, that's all the photos I have for today! But I am changing my hair colour next week, so please look forward to it! I won't be revealing the colour yet, as I myself don't even know what I'm doing with it, but the appointment is booked, so it's happening! I honestly have more roots than a tree right now =_______=;;

Anime North 2011 + Announcement

Hey all! So this last weekend, I attended one of my all time favourite conventions ever: Anime North! It's located in Toronto, and its one of the biggest in Canada. I went with a few of my friends this year, and we had a blast! As I mentioned in one of my last posts, I do cosplay at these events, and I thought I would share some photos with you today!

Anyways, this year I cosplayed from the series Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt! It's a relatively new series, and in essence it is basically perverted Powerpuff Girls. It's actually very funny! I cosplayed as the character Panty!

Hey everyone! So, I know the going has been a little slow around here recently, and I feel really bad about it. I am not used to having 4 academic classes in one semester (plus a dance class), so I have quite a heavy work load to deal with. Especially since its only 30 days to exams, and I have all my final projects to think about. But rest assured, I'm still thinking about this blog!

International Day of Dance!

Hey everybody! So, a little bit of a personal post today. As you know, I am a dancer and I go to a school where we have a specialized arts program alongside the regular academic curriculum. And I participate in the dance classes at my school. And since today was International Day of Dance, we made this video to show our love and appreciation for dance!

This video is performed by a collection of the dancers from our program, ranging from grades 9-12. I appear in the music video at 0:25 for the first time, and I am in the neon yellow t-shirt with sunglasses on it at the end of the video, on the right! The song we are dancing to is "Touch" by Natasha Bedingfield. Please enjoy :D

Just for the record, we are not professionals, and we put this video together in 2-3 days! I am very proud of the product, and I hope you enjoyed it!

(I opted for a more natural makeup look today since I misplaced my eyelash glue :S)

Comfort:

It's so weird to say this, but it's almost like the 15 mm lenses have been more comfortable (so far). When I first put these lenses in, there was no irritation, and I couldn't feel them at all. I had very nice long wear with them, with minor dryness, but that was nothing a few eye drops couldn't solve. Definitely a very soft, comfortable lens, and it warrants a 5/5 from me!

Size:

The size of these are very nice, definitely a good enlargement effect. Even though they are 15 mm, they are still very natural looking. Very similar enlargement effect to the WT-A6 series I review previously. For size, I give them a 5/5.

Colour:

So, I wasn't planning on getting any brown lenses, but I received these ones from Mukuchu and decided, what the heck, I'll give them a shot! And as I predicted, they blended almost seamlessly with my natural eye colour! Which was kind of cool, because it just made me look like I had huge brown eyes normally, harharhar. However, if you don't have brown eyes and are looking for a max brown effect, I would not recommend these, since the colour is mostly on the outer rim of the lens. For colour, I give these lenses a 4.5/5.

Overall:

This lens is all-around nice, and receives an almost perfect score of 4.8/5! They are VERY comfortable, have a very good enlarging effect, and a very nice colour over brown eyes. I worry about how they would look over blue or green eyes, but I think they will still have a nice effect regardless. Overall, a very nice natural lens!

Hey everybody! So, quick post today about this really cute App I found for the iPhone/iPod touch! It's called Princess Camera!

Thats what the app looks like!

It's a really cute "purikura" app that you can use, with or without a camera on your iPod/iPhone. Here's some of the features that it advertises.

So basically, it allows you to lighten your photos, decorate them and exchange them with your friends! It's a very fun App, and only costs $2.99! A cheap price for such a fun little App! Anyways, heres an example of what it can do :)

Comfort:

So, immediately after putting these lenses in, I could barely even feel them, even though they are bigger than the ones I had previously. They are so comfortable, I could probably wear these for a whole day with no problems! I've barely been able to feel them in my eyes, and I've had them in for about three hours now. They also have a larger clear space in the center, so there's less chance of the coloured portion of the lens sliding over your cornea. Very comfortable! I give them a 5/5 for comfort!

Size:

Just by looking at the one lens in, one lens out photo, there is a HUGE size difference! I didn't think 15 mm would be this big of an impact, but it is all there! The enlargement effect is very nice, and it almost looks natural! Just like you have natural, dewy, huge dolly eyes :D If you want the MAX enlargement factor, opt for a 15 mm lens like this one. For size, I give them a 5/5!

Colour:

In the bottle, they look like a very bright blue, so I was very excited about them! But after putting them on, since I have brown eyes, the blue is kind of dull. It's still noticeably blue, it's just more of a grey-ish blue than I initially expected. In pictures they look quite nice though! Overall for colour, I will give them a 3.5/5

Overall:

So, this lens is good if you want a more natural colour, max enlargement and comfort! I do really like these lenses, and I think that, colour aside, they look quite nice! They look surprisingly natural on my brown eyes, since the lens has a nice blend effect. I'm quite satisfied with these lenses, and overall they get a score of 4.5/5!

S/S Trending: Retro Girly!

Retro Girly! The infamous trend for Spring/Summer! I have got to tell you, I love this trend. Definitely an easy transition from last years Western S/S trends, combining lots of florals and simple patterns into one super sweet style! Today I'm going to be covering the basic stylistic points of Retro Girly, different brands, and some of my favourite coordinates showing the style. So let's get right into it!

So, what is Retro Girly exactly? Well, it's sweet without being too sweet, lady-like, but still fabulous, and classy but fun! It's pretty much the epitome of cute. It combines classic elements with modern cuts and concepts, elegant necklines with super girly sweet patterns, and it's the perfect style for Spring.

What I really like about Retro Girly is that it is pretty much a perfect combination. It brings together lots of this years trends and uses them in perfect quantities.

A few brands that are really taking advantage of Retro Girly are Dazzlin', Titty & co., Minirdees, Min plume, and Ank Rouge. There are lots of other brands that are doing Retro Girly, but today I'll be focusing on the styles from these five brands.

Here are a few trends that have been cropping up among many of the brands out right now:

Bow Neck Tops

Lower Row: Ank Rouge, Minirdees

This is one of my favourite pieces from the Retro Girly style. It can be worn so many different ways and theres many different varieties, as you can see. Some are high necked, some collared, some open, and many different colours and patterns. I especially like the gingham one by Minirdees. I have actually boughten a bow neck top from F21, which you may have seen if you read my NYC post. These shirts are super sweet, but they can also be very classy. It all depends on how you style them.

High-Waisted Shorts

Upper row: Dazzlin', Ank Rouge

Lower Row: Minirdees, Min plume

I am also a huge, huge fan of the high-waisted short! It takes shorts to a whole new level for Spring/Summer, and gives more options than just jean shorts. I love the different styles they are using too, like bubble hemmed, pleated, and ultra-high waist as well! It's a nice way to do high-waists without wearing a skirt.

Polka Dots

Upper row: Ank Rouge, Dazzlin'

Lower row: Ank Rouge, Dazzlin'

Now this trend is not restricted solely to Retro Girly, but it is showing up quite a bit. Because really, what says Girly more than polka dots? And a lots of things are coming out in polka dotted prints; tops, bottoms, rompers, dresses, you name it, probably comes in a polka dot pattern.

Some other patterns that are huge in Retro Girly are plaid, gingham, stripes, and florals of course!

And now that I've covered some of the trends of Retro Girly, lets have a look at some of my favourite coordinates from some shop staff, etc!

Adorable polka dot x lace one piece from Minirdees! Also, use of low socks and big hat which are also big Spring/Summer trends! Go Minirdees!

Great coord from Titty & co. shop staff! I love the shoes especially! Also the lace top, super girly!

One of my favourite coords from Min plume staff-chans! Use of polka dots and high socks really make this outfit! (also rocking the Min plume eco bag)

Cute coord from Miss Okarie of Ank Rouge! Love the striped skirt and cardi combo, super cute and lacy. And adorable bow heels too.

Hey everyone! First of all, Happy (belated) St. Patricks Day! I was going to post that yesterday, but I was pretty busy getting ready for festivities. Secondly, I am back from my trip to New York City! If you've never been to NYC, you need to go. Everything is awesome there. This was my first trip to New York, and it definitely won't be my last :D

I did way more shopping than I should have while I was there, but honestly, how could I not. The shopping in NYC is some of the best I've ever seen. I went to 4 different F21s, and 2 H&Ms! It was soo nice! But anyways, lets start with some pictures of my trip~

Personal Panda: Quick Update

Hey guys! So, I've been pretty proud of my ability to keep up with posts on the timeline I set for myself, but the next post on Retro Girly might be up a little later than planned. Why? Because it's Spring Break starting tomorrow at 3:00 PM for me! And I am heading to New York, New York for four days on Sunday!

SO PRETTY!

It's my first time going to NYC, and I'm VERY excited! I'll try and take as many pictures as possible, and hopefully do lots of shopping while I'm there! It's high time I do a GETS post anyways. As of right now though, I don't think I'll be bringing my computer with me to New York, so I'll only have my iPod with me. And I could blog on that, but it'd be really hard and time consuming. But I'll be back on the 18th, and hopefully my next blog post will be up soon after that!

As for the rest of my life, my Physics class is going to be the death of me. And Chemistry, and probably Biology too. I'm pretty smart, but the work load is killing me! But enough of my ramblings, I have to get up early tomorrow! I'm going on a trip to Wayne State Uni to participate in a dance Master class! I LOVE WAYNE STATE :D So anyways, if I find some time, I MIGHT be able to post before I go on my trip, but we'll have to see!

Mode Gal: Spring/Summer

Hey everyone! So, today's post is about Mode Gal looks for Spring and Summer 2011, as predicted by the two major Mode fashion houses: Murua and Emoda! :D I'll mostly be showing catalog shots and choice items from these two brands S/S lines today, so please enjoy!

First up is Murua! Murua's designer Momoko Ogihara went to L.A. to gather inspiration for this S/S, and you can tell there's a lot more celebrity style mixed in with the Mode. Here are some of the shots from her L.A. Diary shoot. (I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but you can click on any of the photos to make them larger)

Murua's overall look this S/S is still very similar in colour palette to previous seasons, but seems a bit more relaxed and floaty. Lots of loose and sheer materials for S/S, which I think are lovely. But there's one colour thats new on their palette this season:

This GORGEOUS orange!

I think is colour is absolutely fantastic, and totally appropriate for Spring and Summer. It's so bright and cheery, and just looks so fresh. Definitely looking forward to seeing more of this colour come out.

As for the online store, Murua has quite a few of their new items up on their webstore, but here's a few of my personal favourites.

Posted this in my preview, but I LOVE this skirt! Murua has a bunch of different styles of sheer maxi skirts and pants, but this skirt is definitely my favourite of them, especially in this colour way. The blue and orange really pop on this skirt.

Combining knits with more Spring-y clothing is a great way to transition from season to season, and I really love this knit. Looks very light and comfortable, and I really like the colour!

Ethnic print is in again this season, and I love this subdued version of it. It's not IN YO FAYCE ethnic print, it's just chill and very Mode. Nice silky, floaty material is great for warmer weather as well!

Great way to do the bow-necktie trend for Mode. Plus, leopard love!

Overall, Murua is throughly impressive in their S/S line, and I can't wait to see more! Personally, I check Momoko's blog almost everyday waiting for new products! Murua is very influential on me. You can trust I'll be out hunting for items in that GORGEOUS orange colour!

Next up, let's have a look at Emoda! Emoda, much like Murua, is keeping a similar look to their previous seasons, but with lots of Spring-y details and new colours. Emoda has an extra lot of florals for all your Spring needs. And I've also noticed a lot more patterns than usual. Here's some of my favourite coordinates from their TouchMe runway.

Emoda is still pretty strictly Mode, but they have so many great new things this season. I am loving the floral overload here. And the webshop has lots more great things. Here's some of my favourites from Emoda:

Fantastic colour and fantastic material! Mode this season uses tons of sheers, so keep your eyes sharp for more! I also love the gathers on this shirt, very unique!

This high-neck sheer blouse would be great for a Spring day, and the skirt is a perfect match for it.

Last but not least, a gorgeous pop of colour for your feet! I am in love with this wedge, both the colour and the style.

All in all, I'm really excited to so the rest of Mode for S/S 2011. So far, things are looking fantastic, and are really intriguing me. I love all the use of colour with the blacks and whites, its very crisp and fresh, while mature and Mode. Can't wait for more! Daily Style: Semi-formal!

Hello everyone! I'm quite out of sorts today, for multiple reasons. Firstly, it started snowing again after like, 4 days of no more snow!! And secondly, last night was my semi-formal, of which I am very fond! It's basically like a junior prom thing, for those of you who don't know.

They theme this year was Candyland, But I don't know how well I pulled off the theme?

Since the theme was Candyland, we kind of tried to match our dresses to candies. I said I would probably be candy hearts since the pattern on my dress is hearts, and Leah was candy canes or peppermints. Both dresses are mine, the one I'm wearing is from H&M (plus matching scarf) and the one Leah is wearing is from ModCloth.

I wore my new lenses for this event as well, since they seemed to fit int well!

I'm wearing top and bottom lashes, top ones are from F21, bottom ones are a cut up pair of Diamond Lash.

Also, I got my hair dyed before semi (also styled, but forgot to take a photo :[ )

I am now signifcantly blonde with some dark black/brown pieces throughout! I relaly like it, and it's not as yellow in real life. The blonde parts are like a champagne blonde. I really like it! :D

Also, the lighting in the hall during the dance part of the night was so nice for camwhoring without flash! I love the effect of the purple lights on my skin! And my makes my lips look super pretty :D

Comfort:

Ok, so as previously mentioned, this was my first time wearing lenses of ANY kind, so obviously at first they were a little uncomfortable, but I found them to be VERY comfortable! After a while you hardly even notice they are in your eyes, they were that comfortable, even for a first-timer! If this IS your first time wearing lenses, I would recommend getting a smaller lens, it will probably be more comfortable. I'm just a fool who likes to take risks :| Yea. Sometimes the fact that they are so big gets a little irritating, but that usually only happens as you get to the end of the time limit of wearing lenses (you shouldn't wear lenses longer than 8 hours at a time). But over all, I give them 4.5/5! Very comfortable!

Size:

Okay, so I have normal sized eyes, and these lenses definitely made a difference! They are the 14.5mm size, so they are the middle size for these lenses. Although they did make a difference, they did not make as big of a difference as I was expecting, but I think I just had higher hopes for my lenses. But they did catch eyes when I wore them at school and definitely got me some funny looks. But these lenses are actually a pretty good size if you want enlargement, but not MAX enlargement. Overall, 3.5/5

Colour:

Okay, so when you first look at the lenses in the bottle they look VERY candy pink, which can be moderately intimidating. But after closer inspection, they are a very soft pink, and do not look quite as vivid on the eyes. They actually look pretty natural, as far as pink goes. At first people didn't really notice the pink, but they noticed my eyes were bigger. Then once they were clued in, they were like "Woah. Your eyes are pink!". I was actually really happy with the colour. But if you're look for a brighter pink, then you should look somewhere else. Also, the colour is very opaque. In the end, 5/5 for me!

Overall:

After all is said and done, I really love these lenses! They have really great definition, colour, comfort and enlargement. They really make a difference, but not a ridiculous difference. They look really natural on brown eyes, it actually looks pretty cool! I'm really happy with the lenses that mukuCHU provided me with, and overall I give them a 4.5/5! Definitely worth a try if you want to give pink lenses a go!

Popsister February Review

Hey everyone! So, I've been bad recently. I haven't really been doing much other than playing Sims 3 (argh!) the last week or so, and I've been busy with end of term projects and our next upcoming show for dance. I also am helping run auditions for my schools dance program. But since it's basically a blizzard outside, me and my mom can't go see Black Swan, so I figured now is the perfect time to do a little blogging!

So today I wanted to do a bit of a review of the Popsister February 2011 issue! If you like more of a casual style, Popsister is perfect for you. It's now one of my favourite magazines, plus has lots of my favourite ex-Popteen models!! (Wei Son FTW!)

Jun Komori and Tsubasa Masuwaka both have super cute outfits going on here. I absolutely LOVE that polka dot sweater!!

STV pages have a great spread of trendy stud items, plus two cute 'copy cat' outfits! I really like how simply awesome those outfits are.

I looove this Tsubasa makeup tutorial! Very simple and pretty, I love the lightness of it.

Cool shoot featuring more of a casual rock style.

I loooove the street snaps in this mag. I know a lot of the people in the snaps are models, etc, but they also have a lot of people, it seems, that aren't models and are actual people! And I love that they do street snaps of specific trends going on right now.

LOVE the shoes in the top left corner of the page!! Supposed to be an upcoming trend :D

Popsister really likes the Used style. They almost always have a trend crossed with the Used style in the magazine.

I LOVE THIS! Focus on Otona style and SNEAKERS!! F-YEAH. I love this whole coordination here.

Overall, I thought this was a really good issue for being in between seasons. I like that we're starting to see some Spring trends making appearances in this issue, but it's still Winter for a lot of us, so it's good that there are still tons of inspiration for Winter!

Winter Wonderland

Hey everybody! I am a lazy, lazy person, I know. But yesterday was the last day of school for me until January, so I will hopefully have more time to blog this break!

Anyways, today I wanted to post about my school's Holiday show we put on last weekend. I was in three dance numbers for this show: Parade of the Wooden Soldiers (a tap dance), Waltz of the Snowflakes (an ensemble ballet piece) and Arabian Coffee (a duo acrobatic ballet piece).

So today I would like to share with you some pictures from my show!

So first I'm going to share some photos of my stage makeup. Since my discovery of gyaru, I've since modeled my stage makeup after gyaru makeup. It just makes my eyes appear much larger on stage, which is good under the harsh lights, which always seem to make my eyes look minuscule.

On the topic of makeup, I don't really know how red lips suit me. Do you think they look good or bad? I can never tell. But we had to have our Russian Red lips going on for this show!

Anyways, the first set of pictures are from our Parade of the Wooden Soldiers dance. This dance is one of the dances that I HATE being in because I look ridiculous (costume-wise), but audiences LOVE it.

I hated those hats!! Mine always fell down on to my face because I have a small head. It was so frustrating!! I had to stick like, twenty pieces of foam in it to get it to stay on!

The next set of photos will be from Waltz of the Snowflakes, our ballet ensemble piece.

We fool around a lot back stage, and dancers love to take pictures. So naturally, we spent more time taking pictures than anything else! But it was a good time.

The last set of photos is from my Arabian Coffee dance! I absolutely love this dance, but I was so nervous before the performance. However, it turned out very well, considering some factors. I will post the video after the pictures as well!

The Arabian dance that I performed is what I call acrobatic ballet. It focuses more on the virtuosity than the technique, especially our version. And since it was done barefoot and not en pointe, it loses a little more of its balletic feel. But here's the video for you to watch!

All in all, the show was a success, and it was super fun to do also! I had a great time, and maybe if they produce a DVD of the show, I can show you more of the dances.

I am so relieve that it is finally Christmas break! I finally have some time to just sit and relax, and not have to worry about anything! All my Christmas shopping is done and wrapped, all my trees are decorated, my whole house is festive, and things are going great!

Christmas is coming!

Wahahaha, Christmas is in 24 days! I am mad excited. I am a huge, huge, huge lover of Christmas and everything that comes with it. I am the type of person that starts listening to Christmas music in November. I just love the feeling of Christmas. There is nothing better! I love having all my family together, and all the fantastic food so I can get fat and hibernate all during Christmas break.

I felt like procrastinating on all my assignments that are due on Friday (FML MAX), so I decided I just wanted to do a sort of fluff, feel-good blog post. Not about anything in particular. Well, it's about Christmas. But you know what I mean.

I am so pumped to decorate my house for Christmas this year. I have finally convinced my mum to put lights outside on the trees in front of our house. We always do it at my dad's house, but my mom doesn't like to do it that much. But we do make up for it in Christmas trees. We have four trees at my moms house usually. Also, this year I want to get one of these for my new bedroom:

Too bad that would never, ever fit in my new attic bedroom. But a girl can dream! I just want a mini-pink tree to decorate my room with. I basically want to turn my room into Christmas Winter Wonderland. I also need to stock up on Christmas scented candles. My sister works at Bath & Body Works now, so I can get candles at a discount, ha cha cha.

But while I'm on the topic of Christmas, I want to hear from you guys too! How do you celebrate? If you don't celebrate Christmas, what do you celebrate, and how do you celebrate that? What's your favourite candle scent?

And most importantly (not really), what do you want for Christmas!?

I would die if I could get the Olympus E-PL1 Pen camera, because it's mad awesome. I also will be more motivated to blog then, because I'll actually be able to take nice pictures. Right now I have to take all my pictures on my iPod. I also want some sweatpants from PINK, because it gets really darn cold in my dance class, and I literally own no sweats. And I recently found out that Bobbi Brown had released a new book called "Beauty Rules" and I would love to get a copy of that under the tree.

And believe it or not, that's a downsized list from last year. As I age, I finally am realizing that I don't need a billion presents to make me happy at Christmas. I am happy that I've started to mature in that respect.

Anyways, I am going to go work on my project some more before I go to bed. Wish me luck so that I don't fail all my classes this semester!!
